We finally checked out this place for dinner. Definitely go when the weather is nice because it’s all outdoors. They had lots of fans to help, but it was still toasty. The outdoor space ia excellent for kids to play. They have live music typically, but no one was playing that evening. Our waiter was awesome & I wish I could recall his name!

Absolutely love this place! The Armadillo Eggs are to die for. We got the marbled brisket and the chicken fried steak. The brisket was tender and had a solid smoky flavor, while the chicken fried steak maintained its crown as the best in most of the restaurant industry. Our server, Zach/Zack/Zak was also amazing and tended to us very well, checking on us ever so often. Service, atmosphere, and food are all A++.

Marvelous meal served to us by a charming waiter named Zack. Look for him when you go in and ask about the daily specials. We went in on a Thursday night and my husband had tender succulent all you can eat ribs. He ate several and there were so many on his plate when first served that we had 2 ribs to take home. We also took home some popcorn shrimp and grilled potatoes. Our meal was a success! They have daily lunch specials as well as daily evening specials. You won’t be disappointed.

Loved the back patio. There is live music every night and happy hour specials till 7. We came on a Wednesday around 5:30. Lots of open tables. Got busier as the band started playing. Great service, loved the atmosphere. Food good too – reasonable and generous. Wednesday is the pork chop special.

Pretty good and fun place to visit. The food was good. The atmosphere was fun, and the staff was friendly. My only complaint is what I never got the salad with my meal, but they took it off the bill without any issues. Check it out if in the area. Note that is 90% outside covered seating and they have live music all the time. Can be loud at times.

Came here for the first time. We have family who can’t stop talking about how good this place is. So we drove the 4 hours to check it out. And it didn’t disappoint. All workers were friendly and so sweet. We had the armadillo eggs and it was my first time trying them. It was really good. A bit spicy but great lol. We got the 24oz steak. It was big and my husband said it was good but not the best. I got the grilled chicken plate. Ohh man it was big portions. All plates we got were very big portions. I couldn’t finish not even half my plate. It was so much food. My kids got the chicken fingers off the kids menu and it came with 3 fingers. One got curly fries and loved it. My other child got the burger with fries from the kids menu as well. The burger was really big and she loved it. Said she would come back (that’s from a very picky eater). Again the amount of food you got was very large. My parents got bbq plates and they loved it but had to bring home half cause it was too much food lol. The prices weren’t too bad. The kids plates were $4.99 no drink included. Grilled chicken plate was $15.99, steak was $39.99. Ohh we ordered onion rings too. They aren’t on the menu but they have them. They also have crackers on the table for you to enjoy while you wait for your food. We would eat here again if we were in the area. (I took pictures after everyone had started eating so there was food missing on their plates lol.)

Stayed walking distance from this amazing place. You can either eat in the diner atmosphere in the original restaurant. Or outside in the modern enclosed eatery, even at a bar top style atmosphere. It’s a trifecta in a sense that gives the patron a choice. I stumbled across this gem that was a stable on diners drive-ins and dives. The armadillo eggs are really good not too spicy but just enough bite. Mondays are wing specials, so yes I tried all flavors. From mild to wild my favorite was the lemon pepper.

We come here every time we are in Kemah. Had a group of 10 plus 2 kids, and the service was great. My wife ordered the fried pork chops, and they we are fantastic and are huge. Two people can eat from that plate. I had the fried seafood platter and tried 1 lb of boiled crawfish, and both were good. Crawfish are $5.99 lb on Wednesdays. That’s way cheaper than most places in Houston.

Great steaks and sides. Salads, chicken and some seafood options. Indoor and Patio seating. Decor is dated but that is the charm of this Kemah landmark.

This place was exactly what I needed. I chose outdoor seating because I could hear live band from parking lot although inside looked cozy too. Casual family atmosphere with an attentive energetic staff. Alex was awesome with his knowledge of the menu and specials. Upon his recommendation, I chose the 14oz aged ribeye with mac/cheese and green beans. Everything was seasoned well. They had all you can eat ribs on Thurs but my heart was set on steak. Being an out of towner I highly recommend this place.
