It’s a cool place. I really liked it. Delicious, reasonable prices, good service. They have tables made so you can fry food on them. So you can put on a show. It’s very cool and fun. I recommend it as the best place in town. Want to eat sushi? Then you are here ))))

Impressive place I must say. We are glad we went to this place. We seated at the booth. Distancing is the thing here. Shields placed, paper menus to keep clean and germ free. Nicole was our server she was so nice and helpful. What we liked the most was to see the show going by the chef. The food was nice. Soups are very good. The appetizers are good as well. If have to recommend something it would be putting little more lights because there is dark while you enter. I would like to be here again. My daughter loved the sushi.

When you go to a Japanese restaurant you expect some Japanese ambiance. The outside facade needs an overhaul.

For a Friday evening it was slow. Terrible food and service. Me and my husband never get out and to spend 100 dollars on a meal and have poor service and food was a disappointment. Waitress did not clear plates, beer was warm, I sat the entire meal without a drink. Vegetables and scallops were undercooked. Vegetables were still crunchy. I will not go back here. 18 percent gratuity included which I feel is not giving the waitresses a lot of motivation.

Very dated free standing building, inside dining area, dated as well. Curtains, dingy, have been there since they opened many years back. I believe the building was an old burger place before the 80’s-90’s? Once you enter the main area, floors are dated and sticky. Seems like ventilation and exhaust units over hibachi grills need cleaned or changed out, the smell can be pungent. Building and dining area have been ignored since after their first year of service. Chinese owned. He is a very nice and pleasant guy (thats why I gave an extra star in my rating). I can’t say the same about his female serving staff. Rude and catty behind customer’s backs. Very unprofessional and unkind. I would give 0 stars but it’s not an option they offer. The cooks were pleasant as they entertained their guests. Large menu offered. Food is Chinese-American influenced, not at all Japanese quality. Sashimi, sushi and hand rolls, the raw fish are previously frozen, so I’m not sure how old it is. It is far from “fresh”. Previously frozen, thawed, is NOT fresh, no matter what a person says to try to convince me otherwise. Prices are high for the quality of their ingredients. One of items we ordered was the spicy salmon hand roll. It was a dull color, mushy, smelled offputting and questionable, like their other salmon filled rolls. We love dining at Columbus’ Akai Hana, voted #1 Japanese restaurant in the city. Japanese owned, ran, menu, quality, service, atmosphere! Comparing Akai Hana to Ichibans hand rolls, it is a huge difference. Akai Hana is fresh, never frozen, high quality spicy salmon roll, you can see, smell and taste the huge difference (entire menu is authentic Japanese!!!). I’ve had seafood poisoning 4xs in the past, so with my experiences, I did not eat Ichibans hand rolls. They offer sake and other spirits. Hibachi seating (very close together, elbow to elbow seating) as well as a few booths in the back. Women’s restroom need attention. The prices on the menu, I would expect better quality. Prices went up but quality went down. Food is not consistent in presentation, taste nor quality. We have dined here on and off for years, mainly for entertaining the children with a hibachi show. When they first opened, it was much better, the food presentation, his staff were awesome, me, my family and friends were happy! Sadly, not anymore, different presentations, lack of consistency, quality, prices and staff. Its hit or miss, mostly miss, when we go here for lunch or dinner. We like to support our locally owned restaurants. More disappointment, yet we’ve given it many chances. It is time to cease. We highly hesitate recommending this establishment to others. However, if you want hibachi entertainment for your children, and don’t care about quality meals and don’t mind spending $50+ per person, and be auto-tax 18% gratuity to your bill without alerting you of it prior to paying (if you dont pay attention, you can double tip!). Unfortunately, that’s one main reason why the servers are unmotivated to do their job. Feel free to try this place, it may be a better experience for you? Load up your wallet! Bon appetite (???) and Godspeed everyone!

Very disappointed but shouldn’t have expected much once walked up. Dingy on the outside matched the inside. Wait staff friendly but very occupied with their phones. The worst of it was the food as it was homogenized. Everything had one of two combinations of sauces. All mixes together you couldn’t distinguished any flavors.

Delicious food. Update-they have started adding on an automatic 18% gratuity to all bills and prices have increased. Don’t get the lobster tail, it’s an additional $15 on your meal. We spent almost $100 for 4 (2 kids that got chicken nuggets)

Very well prepared quality food tasted very good. I had the steak with noodles. The steak was cooked to medium as requested. The noodles were fresh and tasty. I passed on the vegetables that night.

Food was very good. Made right in front of you. Cook was pretty funny and talented. The building is run down and old.
