I went to table south, not only ready to eat, but also to speak to someone about having a small gathering at the location. The bartender was so accommodating and kind and helpful. however, as she referred me to her manager…..with the long brown hair…it was a different story. She was dismissive of my husband and I from the moment we walked up to the desk. Her tone was curt and she looked as though we were bothering her. I have been to table south before and had previously had positive experiences…..this was the opposite. Good, polite customer service is a must….no one should feel dismissed.

The food was “ok”. The cook wears a lot of jewelry. I also found mold on one of my blackberries. The burger was really good. Being in the food industry, I notice things like this.

The wait was pretty long for food but I think that’s because they were making food for other peoole in the hotel. The menu was kinda small and pricey… Anyway, food tasted fantastic and the bartender was delightful.

Ate here today and the food was amazing. Very creative and well executed. Will be back! Very nice staff too. I had the chicken and waffles, which I could have split because the portion was huge. The menu options are inventive and full of flavor. Also, be sure to get the pimento cheese fondue, yum.

If I were staying at the hotel and didn’t want to leave for food, I’d still probably get something doordashed to me rather than order Table South’s food again. It was undercooked and not worth the cost. I’m sure the bar is fine, but they don’t seem to keep good records on what alcohol needs to be stocked – they were unable to make two of their signature drinks when we visited, and we’re completely out of Scotch. The bartender seemed alright.

I am staying at the Marriott City Center and the Table South Kitchen and Bar is exceptional on both service and menu. All of my visits have exceeded expectations. The Chefs’ selections are delicious well balanced and have a great presentation.

Went to there bar snack Area. No waitress ever came to table. It was busy but not full in speaking to manager who waited on several people before coming to me as of he didn’t see me. I was told they were short staffed and the people there were only filling in. I was also sitting in setting area not to be served.(There was no sign stating this and it seemed to be the same area as the rest of the tables but okay). I placed my order moved my sit. An 1 hour and 10 minutes later I go back to Manager the area is now completely full and tell him neither me or my friend have received our food. I few minutes later I see him back at the bar serving other’s no communication with me at all about where my food is. 10 minutes later still no conversion from him my food shows up with my friend’s order missing. We both got up and left. I shall never return and I will tell those I know not to go there either. Terrible Just Terrible.

The breakfast buffet is not worth $17. The staff was also a bit rude. For $17, I kind of expected to be waited on at least for drinks, but we had to get our own drinks and staff only came over to discuss our bill. Very disappointed.

This is still one of Durham’s best kept secrets. Creative menu items. Dreamy service. Great for a date night. Safe haven oasis when visiting. Right in the center of town. We were lucky enough to be here on smores night. What a welcoming gift after a long trip. From the valet to house keeping top notch service that is refreshing to witness. Thank you Marriot team.
