Make Salsa, Not War. The sign over the salsa bar made me smile because I love salsas and Taco Centro had an abundance of options at the salsa bar. It was a positive sign for our visit. We also loved the blue lights and decorations – different than a lot of taco joints.

The best tacos I’ve had in a very long time. My boyfriend and I got 4 tacos each and it was less than 50$. The array of toppings was a huge plus and the staff were very friendly. You can also see them make the dough for the tortillas. Would highly recommend coming here for your taco fix!

Tacos were outstanding. Thick juicy cuts of carne and pollo. Just enough quac and cilantro/onions. Draft beer nice and cold. Gotta try the chipotle cream salsa and habanero salsa. Not too hot with a nice kick. Great seating areas inside and out.

I did not want to originally come, but so glad that I did. Great tacos! They have so many options and their salsas are pretty solid too. Glad I was forced to come here. I would gladly visit again.

Not sure if it was the hunger from walking all night but the tacos were great. There was a 10-minute line, though t’was worth it. Forgot what I ordered, but the meats were tender and juicy. Satiates at a time of need.

Such an incredible new authentic Mexican/Taco shop in the Gaslamp Quarter. First time here and the Al Pastor burrito was on point! The marinade was amazing! Their salsa bar is the biggest I’ve seen in a downtown San Diego Mexican joint. A must go to when in the Gaslamp. Open until 3am on the weekends . Well priced and totally worth it!

This tiny taco shop is my go to in downtown. 1/2 a block off 5th with blue lights like a beacon! Homemade corn and flour tortillas. Grilled fish tacos, Bierra, pastor. Amazing salsa bar. Beer on tap and bottled drinks. You can literally watch your meal being prepared in open kitchen behind viewing glass. Everything is prepared super fast. Tacos are about $4.50 add grilled cheese for a extra $1. Open until midnight weekdays, open until 3 AM on weekends!

Was on my way to another place for lunch and walked by. Smelled delicious and the people in there looked like they knew what was up. Carne Asada Burrito with everything is DELICIOUS, lot of flavor and great meat. Will definitely be coming back. Quick and reasonably priced. Lots of yummy salsa options too. Sadly my photo doesnt do this burrito justice but 10/10

I FN love mexican, 7 days a week. Googled the area and these guys had the best star rating. So I go, why not. Walk up to the Centro and it doesn’t look like that much but give me the tacos. We walk up to the counter and the little gal working was a bit short and rude. Whatever, gimme the tacos book. Ya the food is sick. You will like it. My boy got the steak bowl and got what looked like a 12oz ribeye for 12 bucks. Do this fool.

Taco Centro is definitely the place to be!!!! We stopped my here after a night out. The service was great and the food was delicious. We walked in at 11:15pm and they close at 12am. Our food was fresh and hot. I ordered 2 chicken tacos with queso on a flour tortilla, a side of rice and guacamole and chips. I loved everything I ordered. Please give this place a try. I forgot to take a pic of food because I was so hungry.
