Enjoyed a hot breakfast burrito meal. Service was friendly and helpful navigating the breakfast menu. Well done, TJs.

Food is good and I really enjoyed the new shrimp tacos. Lobby was very clean. Staff are helpful and patient. It’s a little too far out of the way for me so it may be awhile before I go back. Use their app and get reward points or discounted items. Got a free taco from my friend’s referral

they take forever to serve you and half the time your orders wrong I waited 20 minutes one day to get my food and it wasn’t busy that’s ridiculous for fast food

Taco John’s is not going to win awards for originality or bold flavor concepts, but it is very tasty and made fresh which counts for something. We’ve eaten here twice, and both times enjoyed the “fast food Mexican” with a good mix of crunchy and soft, creamy and spicy. The kids were also appreciative of the dessert options like churros and mini doughnuts, and I personally liked the fried fish taco. Unlike another establishment that runs for the border and runs for the bathroom, we had no gastro-intestinal issues afterwards. The restaurant was cleaner than I expected for a truck stop and the employees were familiar enough with the menu to help guide my kids through some menu options. It is made to order (or at least, assembled and partly grilled and/or flash fried) so it’s not as fast as a ready-made option under the burners at other chains, but if you are willing to wait a few minutes and soak up the ambience of a Central Illinois Highway Oasis, it’s worth your time.

The other day didn’t cook my chicken through all the way manager didn’t even appolgize for it and employee recooked once again was not cooked all the way. It’s sad they have no one that speaks no fluent English there and no compassion for there customers serving under cooked food is not acceptable

This place is absolutely terrible. I’ve given this location three tries (because I know it’s possible to catch a place on a bad day) and after this third visit I’ll likely never return. Out of the three visits this was the first time my order came out correct and hot. However, every time I’ve stopped in this store has been dirty and staff unfriendly. The gal taking my order barely spoke, wouldn’t make eye contact, and generally came off like she just wasn’t happy to be there. I’ll be surprised if this place stays open. Hopefully they get it cleaned up in there.

Refusing to take an order is wrong when you don’t close for another 30 minutes. You will be reported to the franchise owner and Taco John’s corporate for your laziness because you don’t want to work. Keep this up and you guys will be out of business.
