GREAT authentic tacos!! They don’t skimp on the fillings and the price is right. Was really surprised at the deliciousness of the pork belly. You can get it by the pound or in a taco. They have the outside crunch and taste of pork skins, with a soft, meaty center. I LOVE their version.

Super cool taco joint located in the back of a Latino Mini Market. I love all the different tacos they have here and it reminds me exactly of the ones I’ve eaten on the streets of Mexico City and Oaxaca 🙂

I was so excited to find a taqueria with the name Tacos Lagos. Just because I like to have conversations with folks to see where people are from and bond with them over the idea that maybe we have a shared experience, this visit was no different. With that, I asked the lady behind the counter where she was from, in Spanish, and she was scrambling to come up with something, so she said Guanajuato. It seems that lately we live in a world with little or no consequences when we lie, I don’t see a difference here. I’m not a food critic but a simple truthful response could have been I love tacos and started this taco place. It’s not important where your from as long as you respect the food and keep it in is natural state, as it was intended to be enjoyed no matter the location. What a disappointment, the lengua was old and recooked with oil to soften it up and it had that fried meat skin. The tortillas, where are these things from? For heavens sake under the name reads tortillera (which means they make their own tortillas…in this case hard to believe that these stale tortillas were made here). What in the world did I just eat. The asada taco was just slight better (this is relative because I’m not saying it was good) and still not good. I don’t wish bad business on any hard working folks, but this was not authentic, not fresh, and a front to tell someone that she was from Guanajuato, why? My opinion, if you like it, keep enjoying it, but I would not recommend it at all.

So disappointed, this food is so salty. I couldn’t even eat it and the meat is old. Recooked and burned. Most of the meat is gristle. The other people reviewing must be family friends.
