Don Pancho had a vision to create a fast casual Mexican restaurant that would provide true Mexican flavor. This is how the Palenque chain was born. Originally from Sinaloa, Mexico and now a U.S. citizen, Don Pancho originally founded El Pollo Loco© which was a success that led him to open his first Taco Palenque® back in 1987 in Laredo, Texas. Taco Palenque® is mainly known for its authentic Mexican tacos.
It has become the ultimate place to spend time with family and friends while enjoying a meal. In fact, positive word of mouth has had a major impact on our satisfied customers. There are several Taco Palenque® locations operating throughout the south region of Texas and are continuing to grow.

Houston Taco Palenque was awesome! Great food, but for being almost empty, they took so long to serve the food. And at this location, you get a vibrating disc to let you know when to go pick up your food, unlike the Macallen location you have a seat with a number and they take your food to the table. The 4 stars for service is for the time it took for them to prepare the order.

Everybody loves Taco P. Went here after a movie since it was the only thing open after 10pm. Food was fresh, like still sizzling fresh. We finished up right before a big rush. The Only issue with this location is the parking situation. It’s horrible.

1 star is to much!! What a horrible restaurant it’s dirty, extremely hot in there and food is disgusting!! Just spoiled food horrible tortillas the best food in there was the chips and beans! Never coming back if you plan to go to palanque go to another of the locations because this one is horrendous!

Taco Palenque is not what it used to be, the place inside is filthy, there are no staff cleaning it is very dirty inside, there were no salsas, pico de Gallo or limes.
