Don Pancho had a vision to create a fast casual Mexican restaurant that would provide true Mexican flavor. This is how the Palenque chain was born. Originally from Sinaloa, Mexico and now a U.S. citizen, Don Pancho originally founded El Pollo Loco© which was a success that led him to open his first Taco Palenque® back in 1987 in Laredo, Texas. Taco Palenque® is mainly known for its authentic Mexican tacos.
It has become the ultimate place to spend time with family and friends while enjoying a meal. In fact, positive word of mouth has had a major impact on our satisfied customers. There are several Taco Palenque® locations operating throughout the south region of Texas and are continuing to grow.

For fast food it’s pretty awesome. Good tex mex for a reasonable price. Rip to the Luby’s that was here, but happy we have a Taco P now.

After going to the taco palenque on encino I have high standards because they are the best! But this location I always have issues with my order being incorrect or food being old and tasting awful. I know they’re fairly new but it starts with management. I love the hospitality on the encino location but this one needs work. I’ll drive the extra miles to the better location because it’s worth it.

This is by far one my favorite Mexican restaurants! The staff are friendly and always ready to assist. You can order ahead, use the kiosk, drive-thru or app. If in a hurry you can also use grub hub or favor. There’s a small salsa bar inside sure to meet your desired spiciness or flavor. They also have free chips to accompany your salsa choices or your food selection. Everything is cooked fresh. I’ve never had anything here not appetizing. If it’s delectable food you desire, treat your palate to something at any hour of the day. They’re open 24/7!! When you get a hankering late @ night or have to be to work early, they’ll be there for you!! They also give a military discount!! Try them today, you won’t be disappointed!!!!

We’ve never had a problem using our military discount here and now there’s a new cap on the discount. You can’t spend over $20 or else you can’t use your discount. And when they gave us the discount it was a smaller customer service 7% compared to before. We’re a military couple and we were regulars and definitely won’t be coming back ever again. Lost us as customers. A shame too because we’re so close to this location.

Great food for a decent price. One of the better Mexican food options in the area. Recommend any Parillada or Pancho(nacho).

The food is really good but the sirloin sometimes has too much fat. We ask without grill onions, so it is not too greasy. The rice could be better with just a little less grease. I do like the beans. They are great with the chips. By the way, ask for chips when you go drive thru. The Pico has the right amount of lime in it. My dad loves the pirata tacos.

We feel blessed there is now a Taco Palenque in West Stone Oak. Love the one on 281. Food is almost perfect. However…

Slightly clashing business models. I appreciate the drive through, but getting Fajitas in DT means you get slightly older meats. There’s no cost effective way around that. Other than the meats being from a few hours earlier, the quality of all other foods was quite good. The rice pudding was also a wonderful dessert for the end.

We’ve tried. Really, we have. Except for our first time, the fajita quality for take out is really sub-par. Definitely “old” meat being prepared and dispensed. Maybe it’s different when dining in.
