Tacos 5 de Mayo Menu – Los Angeles, CA

Type : Mexican restaurant

Location : Los Angeles, CA

Good Mexican food done right. Everything done in-house. Aguas frescas made from scratch, our Mole Poblano is made daily. Hand made Huitlacoche(Corn Truffle) or Flor de Calabaza(Zucchini Blossoms) corn quesadillas. Enchilada and Chilaquiles sauces made here. We also make our own Chicharron for our guizado and tacos. Chiles Rellenos with queso fresco.

We offer four types of fresh Ceviche & oysters on half shell. For our Siete Mares Soup we make a salmon broth with chilis for a slightly spicy taste.

Authentic and delicious. Queso Fundido all the way!! So delicious and cheesy goodness! The Quesabirrias were big and filling. Very well made food. The Chile Verde was also quite tasty. Enough food with every plate. You will not leave here hungry. They have plenty of seating in this corner restaurant. Plenty of drinks to choose from, including aguas frescas and alcoholic beverages. Recommend the Agua de Jamaica.

Service was good, flavor too. Ask for salsa and condiments as food not too seasoned.

As other reviewers have mentioned, the waitress was very rude, and this occurred when a family member raised a concern about their order. . The consommé was the greasiest dish I’ve ever seen, and my other family member became ill after trying their carnitas dish. Also, this place is expensive, when taking the poor customer service and food into consideration. Overall, we will not be returning to this restaurant, and I’m posting this review here so other people don’t have to go through the same experience.

Service was mediocre. I went with my father to get something to eat. His food arrived first and he didn’t seem to enjoy it. Once he was done eating I decided to get up and ask for the check since my food never made it to the table. I find it hard to believe that it would take well over half an hour to prepare a shrimp cocktail since most of the ingredients are already pre cooked. Only good thing I have to say about it is that their cucumber and lemon water was pretty good. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

I have to say this is the worst place ever I took all my family to eat the waitress was really rude the food was disgusting and it was super dirty. I’m Mexican and I’m a chef in American , Mexican, Italian, food this is just terrible. I think they could do better than that never coming back…

It’s not beautiful but the food is as good as it gets. It’s not fast food so you’ll have to be a bit patient. It’s inside the mercado.
