Ii finally made it to lunch at Tacos and Chelas after hearing rave reviews from my coworkers. The place was busy but we were seated immediately. I got the quesabirria tacos and they were absolutely delicious. The meat and cheese were perfectly cooked and juicy, the consomme was flavorful, and the corn tortillas were dipped and griddled. My coworkers got flautas and enchiladas and they loved their food as well. I highly recommend catching this restaurant.

Waited more than 30 minutes for our order. we all finished our tea only to be told no refills on tea IF I could give 0 stars, I would . Did not bring out the whole order and finally brought out our bacon RAW! 5 ADULTS and 1 child just to sit down with teas and added tip we were at 14 for teas and 10 added for tip for party of six ….just to sit was 24.00 to start…..I can just warn you STAY AWAY! Oscar 5 teas at 2.99 each = 15.00 and the gratuity she charged for 5 adults and 1 child = 10.00 + for gratuity on a party of 5 adults and 1 child so just to sit was 25.00 and that is ball park…..(gratuity was more 18% of the total)….We were told by the waitress NO tea refills we would have to purchase teas again that sure would boost up that 18% tip on the total now would it not. Your reply tells me a lot about your employees ….we were lied to bottom line…..and we were forced to leave her a tip for lying woohoo makes us feel better….we were there Sunday July 23, 2023 amount 73.83

I like this restaurant if you want a different style of cooking, the street taco is excellent , the torta asada is huge and filled with lots of meat and avocados lettuce and what ever else you’d like. The sauces are very good. The portions are perfect. I came just when it was open at 11am so I waited little more than usual for my meal but it’s always fast service. Try it out . It might be hard to see from Portranco rd. and Ellison but it’s worth the fine.

Saw the pics… I had to try this place. The food looks great… however… we left a little disappointed. The food looked great… however chicken had SO MUCH gristle in it, it wasn’t edible… we ended up wasting a plate of fries with steak on it…

I really loved the flavor!!! The only complaint I have is that the asada was very fatty. The meat they used for nachos and the fries wasn’t easy sirloin to eat but very chewy instead.

We were really disappointed with this place. The wife got some street tacos and 1 of them had a huge piece of meat/tendon that she couldnt eat. I ordered birria tacos thinking they were the dipping tacos but when they came out they were just regular tacos. I asked about it and they said the birria quesadias were the dipping tacos. They don’t has fountain sodas so we had to get the cans. 1 of the 3 kids meals didn’t come with their fresh. Should have just tried the Carne asada fries.

Disappointed to be honest about this place, was recommended but when we went my husband ordered the torta with sirloin but the torta was atleast 70% bread . The breading was THICK and hardly any meat inside. I ordered the shrimp and fish but was kinda bland. No fountain drinks so we had to get can. And a random service fee was applied including their choice percentage of tip. And when you pay, they assume additional tip should be paid as if it wasn’t already a surprise mandatory charge. I expected much more honestly.
