Absolutely delicious food. Had an El Jefe taco and flautas. Portion sizes were very large. Had an horchata agua fresca as well which was very good. Definitely coming back

This is my new favorite Mexican food place in the world…it’s the absolute best. I hope my Mexican mom isn’t reading this because it’s even better than hers! It’s a small and unassuming place. I ordered chili verde and a Torta. Both were amazing and just thinking about them now makes me hungry for them again. Unfortunately I live over an hour away. I will be back without a doubt.

I was doing fencing classes in the same plaza as Tacos El Compa and decided to give this place a try. They have an extensive menu but they are known for their tortas. It’s $16, but it can feed 2 people or last for 2 meals. It is so filling, with so much meat and ingredients in the torta. It was very flavorful and definitely liked it more than their tacos.

My Mexican friend showed me a social media post about the best tortas found in San Jose. Since none of us has ever gone to Tacos El Compa, we decided to come out here and try it.

Was around the area and wanted something cheap but good. We noticed that the prices were reasonably cheap compared to how expensive authentic Mexican food has become in California. When we showed up, the atmosphere was nice and appeared as a cute hole-in-the-wall restaurant. The service was amazing and kind and took their time with us. They had various different kinds of foods and authentic Mexican drinks, all at a reasonable price. When we got our food, they were very generous with the portion sizes. Honestly, if you’re looking for authentic, cheap Mexican food that gives you great portions for good prices and leaves you full or wanting more after, then this is the place you want to go. Don’t overlook it because it’s small, this place is a hidden gem for sure.

Not an expert on Mexican food. Came here based on the high rating. Unfortunately, somewhat disappointed. Food was on the salty side. The restaurant was small which was ok, but they didn’t seem to have time to keep it clean.

Hand made tortillas, plenty of meat in the tacos and all the spices in flavors hit the spot. Friendly staff. Had to try the hot Cheeto taco just to say we did but the originals are the best! Oh and the agua frescas are good too, horchata was def authentic and not watered down.

Tacos El Compa Taqueria provided a prompt and efficient dining experience, with fast service that ensured minimal wait times. The food quality was commendable, offering a solid selection of tacos that satisfied hunger pangs. However, it fell short of exceptional due to the lack of standout flavors of Al Pastor tacos or unique twists on traditional recipes. While the overall experience didn’t quite meet my elevated expectations, the efficient service and dependable food make it a decent option for a quick meal.
