Oh my goodness! One of the best tacos places I’ve had in a while! I placed my order of 2 lengua and one Al pastor tacos to go and they were priced pretty cheap especially for the beef tongue. It came out sooo fast! They have a bar where you can dress your tacos yourself so if you’re not a fan of onions and cilantro, you won’t have it. The tacos were so hot to the touch which made me happy knowing they were FRESH. The beef tongue was so tender, they did a good job of cutting off the fat. Would HIGHLY recommend coming here. I will definitely be coming back to try some other items on the menu. Y’all did an amazing job!

As a Southern CA native, I spent my early years in the WMA searching in vain for a solid taco shop. Luckily I stumbled over Costalilla, and now it’s a regular stop for me. Depending on the crew working they’ll sometimes make carne asada fries (off-menu), which guarantees my returning and suggesting to friends.

Hole in the wall authentic Mexican taqueria. Great tacos – I had Al Pastor, Pork Leg, and Beef Head. My friend had the Ceviche Tostada which was also awesome. Only complaint is that the tacos needed a shake of salt which was available on the tables.

I’ve known about this spot for about 10 years now and I can tell you this is authentic Mexican food, the guys who make the goodies are really from Mexico so they know grandma recipes, I didn’t know about their catering service till recently so I decided to place a big order of delicious tacos, I called them a day before my reunion just to make sure if I had to pay some sort of deposit or something, but no, they didn’t require that for my order, the tacos were on time and everybody in my reunion were amazed with the tacos.

The Flautas Platter consists of 3 rolled corn tortillas filled with chicken breast and cooked, or rather overcooked, so that both ends of the chicken are crunchy and dark brown or burned, while the chicken in the center is white and moist. The flautas were evidently unseasoned, as they were flavorless. So it’s just tortillas filled with small rolls of plain unseasoned chicken and overcooked. The thin, watery sauce provided with the meal added some moisture but very little flavor. The whole mess was presented under a thick camouflage of lettuce so you can’t see that it is burned. To add salt, you have to open up the flautas, which defeats the purpose of ordering food already made. Might as well just cook at home and season to taste! (and you could follow a recipe, that is, add onions and peppers and spices, which will make the plain chicken taste much better!) The beans and rice were better but nothing special. My companion reports that the burrito was large and tastes ok. Aside from dismal food, my complaint is that prices posted on the menu are not correct, which fact is noted on the front of the menu. I guess you find out how much your food costs when you are handed the receipt. That’s how I found out. Wait staff are friendly and explain that prices will be posted when the owner deigns to do so. Good on me for trying something different in the neighborhood, but we won’t be back for overcooked, overpriced food with no flavor whatsoever.

First time trying this place. Two others and myself ordered chicken tacos and carne Asada tacos. We also ordered the salchi-papa, flauta platter, and pupusas made with loroco, and some revueltas as well.

I like this place, make sure to check your take out order before leaving though, because sometimes they forget some stuff ordered or it’s still sitting on the counter and never put in the bag. They have great fresh fruit drinks! I highly recommend the cantaloupe one

Tacos came quick. The al pastor tacos are amazing, similar to the famous el chilango truck in arlington. Tripa tacos are also nice and crispy if you are into weird meats like I am. Self serve salsa, cilantro, radishes and onions to your liking. Highly recommend if you are into authentic tacos.

Tacos are SO GOOD!!! I always get the al pastor with everything on them, and sometimes chips & guac too. The corn tortillas are so delicious and soft (they make them in-house maybe?), and the tortilla chips are freshly fried with your order. The flavors are great in the tacos, the salsas they have are delicious, and I will continue coming here when I get a craving for some delicious authentic tacos. I usually buy 4 and it’s only like $11!! Go to any restaurant in DC or Old Town and 4 tacos would be like $20 lol. You have to try this place!! I can’t say enough good things.
