Since 2012, this taco joint has held a special place in my heart. I initially discovered it while working nearby and found myself ordering lunch almost daily for an entire year before changing jobs. Though my visits became less frequent, my affection for their tacos never waned. Now that I work in close proximity once more, I eagerly indulge in their offerings each week.

Came in to have dinner with my family. No one greeted us. They took a while to give us chips and menus. Took even longer for someone to come and take our order. We had questions about the menu and our waiter (woman with long curly blonde hair) was very rude when she responded. My son was not sure what he wanted since he wanted a Tamale but we were informed it was green and might be spicy. He was looking at the menu and she proceeded to take the menus away from us. I told her we were still looking at it and she replied “I’ll come back then” in a very rude manner. He didn’t take long to decide on what he wanted since there’s a small section for the kids menu. No matter if they were busy or under stress they should not have treated us this way as we are very understanding people.

This restaurant has to be the best Mexican restaurant in all of Palatine! I have ordered food from them in the past when I worked next door to them. Everything I ever had was so incredibly good. The tostadas are my most favorite as well as the tacos. The best I ever had. Recently when it was Cinco de Mayo, my coworkers wanted to order Mexican food for lunch to honor the holiday. A couple employees suggested other places. I suggested Tacos El Norte. So we placed the order. I received so many thank you’s from coworkers that I suggested this restaurant. Everyone said what they ordered was soooo good. and they would order again. Everything is fresh and very reasonably priced. If you love Mexican food, order from Tacos El Norte you will not be disappointed.

This is a pretty standard taco place in Palatine. They have good horchata and the service is pretty quick. I really enjoy the steak tacos and burritos. The guacamole is good. I haven’t had a bad meal here. It’s nothing to go crazy about but the food is solid.
