My friend and I went to dinner at Takara last night and it was a highly negative experience all around.

Nice sushi restaurant in a good location in Canton. Restaurant has its own parking lot – so parking was super easy. Lots of food to choose from on their menu. We got the tuna poppers, the Canton roll, Medfield roll, Ocean maki, and the lunch sashimi special. Everything was very tasty. The Canton roll was my favorite. The Ocean maki while still tasty, was probably my least favorite (the tamago inside the roll was too sweet and I think threw off the balance in flavor for that roll). The restaurant itself was nicely decorated and clean. My only critique is I wish the waitress was more mindful in coming back to check on us and refilling our tea. My friend and I were very thirsty that day and had to ask her for refills on our tea. The waitress was however very friendly and prompt with our requests. I would definitely go back and try something else off their menu.

A classic reborn in Canton! Takara was known for many years in Canton as the go-to Sushi restaurant in the area.

Sat putsid on a nice, warm summer night and it was excellent. Service was quick but a little cold. My wife had the beef bulgogi and I had the yum yum chicken. Both were a solid OK. I should have tried the sushi. All in all, I would give it another go.

I used to get the ramen soup at Takara for take out all the time. It was nice clear chicken broth, big pieces of chicken, actual ramen noodles and beautiful fresh and beautifully cut bright fresh vegetables with a fried egg. This time I got murky miso soup with regular spaghetti pasta noodles in it and a half boiled egg and no vegetables except baby spinach which I think was supposed to be a substitute for seaweed? The person on the phone who took my order was rude and didn’t even listen and kept getting

I’ve been going to this restaurant for about 15 years. Today, I ordered the spicy seafood udon for lunch. At first, I thought it was great. The broth was delicious, and I saw a shrimp and 2 pieces of calamari. Then I found a bay (not sea) scallop. I assumed that there was more hidden seafood, but nope. I should have ordered a sushi lunch. The broth and noodles were great, but there was very little seafood in it. If I had ordered sushi lunch specials, like me kids, I would have been happy at the fish content. If Takara ran out of enough fish for the udon and told me, I would have been fine and ordered something else. This was very unacceptable. And, as i said, in 15 years, this was the first disappointing meal there.

Even after the move, the food is still as good dare I say, somehow even better. However they got rid of the koi pond so take that as you will. Still fantastic 20/10 definitely will eat here again.

Very good fresh sushi. Lot of offerings and other menu choices. The parking lot Is extremely small. Best to park on the street.

It’s not authentic. It’s also my first knowing that bibimbap would be served with cubic beef.
