I recently had the pleasure of dining at Talab restaurant and I must say, it was an amazing experience! The highlight of my meal was definitely the butter chicken – it was simply delicious and tasted so authentic. The flavors were perfectly balanced and the chicken was cooked to perfection. I couldn’t help but go for seconds!

Yesterday I went with my friends to Talab. The place was beautiful, clean and well maintained.

Experience a fresh taste of Bengali cuisine in the Bay Area! The restaurant may be compact, but its modern decor is delightful, capable of hosting approximately 26 diners. The food is truly remarkable, especially the delectable Awadhi mutton served with paratha. On Fridays to Sundays, the menu expands, offering a wider selection of rare Bengali dishes.

This place serves terribly bad food. Where do I even start? I ordered a large pickup order with Murg Tikka, Chicken Reshmi Kabab, Tandoori Roti, Butter Naan, Daal Makhani, Mutton Duckbungalow, Awadhi Mutton. Firstly, the murg Tikka was absolutely burnt and the chicken was extremely dry and fibrous, tasted horrible. Chicken Reshmi Kabab is supposed to be white, all the curd was fully burnt. Tandoori Roti was dry and should be renamed as Papad. Dal Makhani and Awadhi Mutton. were edible but not worthy of the high price being charged. Mutton Duckbungalow had a terrible taste, maybe the spice mix that a Duckbungalow typically has, was burnt.

I felt an instant connection with the food that was served here. The ‘luchi torkari’ was made of memories and the egg devil was finesse. The simple act of eating there calmed me like nothing else. The garlic naan did not need the sprinkling of coriander. The decor elements have resulted in a space that looks calm and inviting at the same time.

The food here is very fresh. I had Kolkata roll, prawn malai curry and rotis. All these dishes were flavourful and I will be coming back to try more dishes.

I am a very big fan of this place and have tried their dishes twice now from the time they have opened. The fish fry is delectably good and the prawn malai curry with white rice is my personal favorite. We had ordered Naan as well but that had come out hard on the edges. The owner is very friendly and personally checks on every table.

Food is really inconsistent. Few months back i ordered mutton awadhi. It was 4/5 good enough to have balanced flavors. Today i ordered the same thing and it was bland with probably no salt at all .. only suger .. this is not the first time i have seen inconsistency at their food .. my roommate also complained about their inconsistency few weeks back. A good restaurant requires consistency in producing decent or good food but they are nowhere near and probably at the very bottom . Hope to see them improve on this. But based on today’s food I am not going back
