My husband and I were craving tamales and this place popped up near me on a Google search. We decided to give it a try. We ordered champurrado and it was awful. It tasted like old grease. Maybe like old or stale masa? We both took one sip and left it there. The tamales were okay. They were a little bland, the rice and beans were okay. They only gave us green salsa, which really helped give the food more flavor. I gave the atmosphere a 1 star because there was a big fat moth flying behind my husbands head the entire time and it grossed me out. I know it’s probably not the restaurant’s fault that a huge moth snuck in overnight. But still, it didn’t help the dining experience.

Very chill spot! I love their sopes de asada & their champurrado! They do have other food options but the sopes are my preference. Must try 🙂

Beautiful little spot, pork tamales are on point. The coffee was fresh and strong. Plus they had my favorite creamer. The girls that took my order were very sweet and accommodating. I will be coming back.

Not Good! Tamales need to change Recipe completely!! Good Service, Rice and beans were good, but Not the Tamales!!! Over cooked meat not properly cut, no flavor masa.

The tamales are delicious and not dry, been coming here for years. Unfortunately they did move from location but it’s worth the drive,They have tables now to dine in so their new location seems spacious. They’re attentive and food has always been tasty and fresh.

I have to give this place 2 stars. I heard it was a good spot to check out for homemade Mexican food. The first time I tried the food it was mediocre at best. I decided to give them another try however I’ve come to understand they don’t like Ponchos here. I got hung up on because my Spanish wasn’t perfect. It’s fine, plenty of other great options to try in the area.

This is one of my favorite tamale spots in Los Angeles. I ordered the red pok tamales with a medium order of champurado. It was all perfect. I’ll continue to go here as long as I’m in the area. During the holidays, it gets hectic.

Whole the locale is hidden. The tamales were very good. Nice size and not overly thick with the “maza” also the chicken was cooked well. The green sauce was a nice taste with a mild kick to it. Although I’m not from the area, I do like the location which is close to.the freeway. If you are on the way home from a trip, definitely worth a try to have these decisions tamales. My only gripe is the atmosphere which doesn’t look finished but as there is no dine in, I’m ok with that. Parking was available but could get messy if it gets more busy.
