Went here for dinner with my wife and child and overall enjoyed our experience. We ordered one vegetarian and one meat sampler (served on the same platter with extra injera) and one order each of beef and chicken sambusas. We are no connoisseurs of Ethiopian cuisine, but we both really enjoyed the food. Portions were generous. I also got a bottle of St. George beer (one of three Ethiopian beers on the menu), which was good and helped complete the meal.

A simple yet wonderful place to eat – the vegetarian platter was delicious and excellent for sharing. It was also really fun to try eating with only your hands (and to use the sponge bread to scoop up the food) – they provided an extra big cloth napkin for those concerned about the messiness 😉

Our family considers this our favorite place to eat. Authentic Ethiopian dishes always are filling and satisfying. Designed to be eaten with your hands, the dishes are never served hot. (no one wants to burn their hands and their mouth!) Some consider it things slow and drawn out, but that is the way Ethiopian food was meant to be eaten – over time in the company of friends or family with plenty of time to talk and relax. The atmosphere is just the right amount of relaxed while still not feeling overly foreign.

It was interesting experience to have Ethiopian food in Pittsburgh. But the price compare the amount of the food (meat and vegetables are not enough for the roll). And the roll is sour flavor (it’s not their fault, just wanna you early notice if you first time want to try)

This food wasn’t as good as the regular ethiopian food I get not like most ethiopian restaruaunts it was not authentic I feel like this place is white washed and I didn’t like that you call white person answers you go to columbus or ga and your gonna get a Habesha speaking person the injera was to light and the non spicy tibs were weird tasting

Average, it doesn’t make the mark but has potential to be a good eatery.

They’ve cut way down on the menu. But the food is good. It’s the only Ethiopian place in Pittsburgh that I know of. It’s worth the hour-hour and 15 minute drive. And when I go, I usually bring friends.

Tana is a vision; one of the best restaurants I have been to in Pittsburgh right down to its environment, management, service, and food. It truly highlights Ethiopian cuisine and I will continue to visit time and time again.
