Absolutely the best dining experience of my life. I think it’d be impossible to describe what it was like, I’ll just say that I am completely willing to just eat rice/lentils at home in order to save up to go to Taneda once each season . Each piece/dish was truly a work of art! I loved how sakura was incorporated to reflect the spring season!

Taneda-san’s prowess with akami and kohada is truly commendable. Each morsel showcases precision and deep respect for the craft.

My wife somehow got us reservations for the 7:30 seating on my actual birthday. Dont know how she did it considering how difficult it is to get into this place. Have had high end Omakase many times before and this experience was near the top! Loved the cool little location of the shop and the atmosphere. All the patrons and staff were friendly and festive. Chef was great and the sake pours didnt stop. Everything was beautiful, delicious and amazing. Cant wait to go back once I have saved up some money again!! Loved everything about Taneda!!!

Legitimately the best meal I’ve had in my life. Not only was each dish incredibly good on its own and allowed me to try items I’d never likely try otherwise, but Chef Taneda was great in how he would share information about each dish as well as his demeanor and humor. The entire staff were incredibly good as well making for an entire experience well worth it even beyond the food. I 100% will have to come back during a different season when the menu/ingredients change.

In a word: incredible. Staff are extremely nice and chef explains every bite in great detail. Incredients are fresh and delicious, featuring a rotating menu that changes with the months and seasons.

Taneda is hands down the most perfect meal I have ever had. Seattle boasts many great sushi experiences and I feel fortunate enough to have tried many of them, but Taneda by far bests the rest with beautiful and complex flavors, an intimate balance between contemporary and traditional flavor combinations, and extremely attentive service! I rarely feel compelled to write reviews for restaurants but the quality of each ingredient and the execution made me feel I had to share my feelings for this newfound favorite! I would give more than 5 stars if I could. Chef Taneda’s sushi is artistic and flavorful and everything I could ever want for a meal. I don’t think I’ve even had such an amazing sushi meal in Japan! I can’t wait to come back.

Creative and Fresh! (visited in March) The best sushi place in Seattle area, if only I can get a reservation.

The kind of place you plan an entire weekend trip across the country for when a friend scores a reservation. Spectacular, hyper seasonal menu and an intimate experience. Though I’ve had almost every one of the ingredients served before, Taneda-san and his team made them wholly new – the experience was like meeting unagi or aji for the very first time. Everything was beautiful, and I hope we’ll have a chance to return.

An experience unlike any other in the Seattle food scene. The dishes served are comprised of seasonal delicacies imported worldwide to attain the ultimate in quality available. Each bite has been thoughtfully prepared with the flavor, texture, and visual presentation, all seemingly at once the greatest, and yet it perfect harmony. Cost is high (+$125/person) and the wait list is tough to get on (2 months average) but it is worth your time and effort to make it happen.

Taneda is inside a building next to a barber shop. It is a clean small restaurant with couple tables and 9 bar seats. They don’t serve customers at the tables. He only serves omakase. 2 sittings a night and I think 3 on Friday and Saturday. Very hard to book and we got our seats from waitlist. We had omakase sushi and also sake omakase $35 per person. We got to try 6 different sake. 3 sake per person. They were paired with your appetizer, sushi and dessert. Most fish were from japan and we have blue fin tuna from Spain. Everything was very delicious, fresh and presented beautifully. Highly recommended. We liked it more than wataru and sushi kashiba
