I recently discovered this seafood restaurant in Culver City, and it immediately became one of my favorites. The food here is amazing in both taste and quality. I’ve had the chance to try their whole fish of the day (fried) and fish and chips on different occasions, and both plates were incredible. The fish tastes fresh and is especially flaky. Their edamame salad is also extremely tasty and is a must-get everytime I go. There is ample outdoor seating during lunch on the weekends, and their service is incredibly friendly. They’re a bit on the pricier side, but the quality of food and great service is definitely worth it.

We had some Happy Hour small plates and the fish tacos. They have a few beers and some wine. They only have outdoor seating but do have heaters. Enjoyed the bacon wrapped shrimp.

I’ve been coming to Tangaroa since I first moved to LA 2 years ago. The casual ambiance is not reflected in their offerings. Menu items are well thought out and flavorful with options varying depending on season. The service is and has always been friendly, which invites friendly patrons. Easy to claim this as a favorite spot of mine and my friends.

The grilled octopus as a dish begs for improvement.

One of the best lobster rolls I’ve had here in LA, the mussels in white wine were delicious. Could dink that sauce by the spoonful.

Easily the best fish and chips in LA, but you can’t go wrong with anything on their menu. Fish/shrimp tacos are fantastic and we always get a dozen oysters as well because they have a great selection of the freshest ones available.

Standard American seafood spot that carries a large selection. I didn’t get to try a lot of their dishes, but everything seemed fresh and tasty. Based on a friend that frequents, they are known for their tacos and fish & chips.

We arrived at 5PM and ordered some wonderful oysters and tacos and chowder fries off of the happy hour menu. All were fantastic. We will definitely be back.

This place is incredible! I just wish I had more time. I discovered this magical spot on my way to LAX. The restaurant was enchanting, so I had to go in to see the fish market. The manager (I think) couldn’t have been more fantastic. While I was trying to figure out what I could bring back to the East coast, I had some incredible oysters (PEI and NZ) and NZ salmon (sashimi). The quality of the fish and the plating was as gorgeous as a recent Michelin dinner. I got the story of the fish (owner has exclusive access/ rights to NZ fish), and it just arrived the day before. The prices (and selection) were phenomenal. If I could’ve taken the store with me, I would have. (Sadly, TSA absconded with my purchases despite the care taken to delicately pack.)
