We had a great time at Taqueria Al Lado! We visited with our pet dog. It’s not obvious from the pictures but the area with the brick is actually a patio in the back, and it’s very dog friendly. The tacos were great – the fish taco in particular. The SSS Margarita (chile, tamarind) with mezcal was great too, we ended up sticking around for an extra drink. Eat here if you have a dog – or even if you don’t!

I tried the Paloma with tres agaves tequila, I highly recommend if you like Palomas. The Al pastor tacos and aguachile were delicious. I can’t forget about the homemade guac!!!

Excellent hole-in-the-wall taco place. Quite authentic and better tacos than I’ve had elsewhere in dc. The margaritas are excellent, with a wide selection of tequilas to try, which is fun. The salsa is genuinely sharp and spicy. Very reasonably priced as well.

Pretty simple menu, but it’s really good. We had the Hurache, tacos, and the shrimp ceviche and a side of rice and beans. The inside has maybe a little more than a handful of tables, but as you walk to the back, what looks to be an outdoor area. They have converted it with awnings and heaters, so it feels like you are indoors. The freshly made tortilla chips and the two different types of salsa are really good. Be careful. The red salsa can be a little hot for some, but if you like heat like me, you keep going back to it.

Just moved here from Oakland, CA and I am so happy to have found this restaurant. It’s the best real Mexican food in the DMV. The tacos, the salads, oh my god and the huarache! The cocktails are also top notch and they will make any on the menu without alcohol of you prefer. Excellent service as well, place is a bit small, but we’ve not had a problem getting seated pretty quickly.

Great lunch experience. Especially the taco con Suadero was amazing! We paid $7 for a great passion fruit margarita as well!
