The name “Cuernavaca” is derived from the Nahuatl phrase “Cuauhnāhuac” and means “surrounded by or close to trees”. The name eventually was Hispanicized to Cuernavaca, Main City from the state of Morelos Mexico.

Overall good experience. Staff was friendly and helpful. Being my first time she answered my questions and was patient as we decided on what we wanted.

Chill spot just about at the top of downtown Main Street. Good food, but it can be a bit expensive and everything is itemized. Family is pretty friendly for the most part. Place is clean and they have a nice outside patio setup on the street now. Good drinks, great burritos and tacos. They have a nice self service salsa bar. Not the best salsa and chips I’ve had. Overall nice place, if you’re in the area you’ll be satisfied with whatever you order to eat. Check them out for quick service and decent Mexican food with the basic general options. They also have so good vegetarian options of mushrooms, zucchini, potatoes and a few others, great flavors too.

Oh my goodness. These were the best tortillas that I’ve had in the last 59 times I’ve eaten Mexican food. These sweet mamacitas serve some soul driven food. I could eat these every other day for the rest of my life. I can’t believe I had to leave the area so soon. The town of Ventura is poised to become a cafe style downtown. Probably the best thing to happen to most towns is outside dining due to the pandemic. All of the best towns cater to a car free street. Just look around.

They just opened up! They have tasty but pricey tacos specially for the size, $2.99 each. They do make up with the taste though. Service was excellent and friendly. I’d definitely recommend. I had the pastor and carnitas taco.

Didn’t get a chance to take a picture of our 3 other tacos because they were eaten too fast. 🙂 Some of the best tacos I’ve had. Salsa is great, quality food and good service. Appreciate the fresh veggies and that the thin hand made tortillas were strong enough to survive all the delicious salsas. If you are looking for authentic Mexican flavors, this place is a must!

Very clean upon entry. Friendly greeting when ordering. Very tasty food. I order 3 tacos of different proteins, rice and beans were terrific as well.

Great food unfortunately the rice has chicken broth in it and this is included in the “vegetarian “burritos. This was not indicated anywhere on the menu so they are serving a meat product to vegetarians. Just be aware. We have been eating there for many months without knowing this. Would love to come back if they have rice without meat products though our trust has been eroded.

Great place to grab some quick, delicious Mexican food. Not glamorous, but it doesn’t try to be and it isn’t necessary. It has great food at a great price, and that’s all that really matters.

Holy hell. Just opened an office up the hill from this gem. I’m going to be in trouble. The Torta Hawaiana is one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. Avocado, pineapple, ham, roasted pork, chipotle, melty jack magic. It’s HUGE, so is enough to share or save for later. So excited to try all of their tacos. They have over 20 options of meat, seafood and veggies. Such a great addition to downtown Ventura.
