We’ve been meaning to try this place since we discovered it 2 years ago, but never managed to go. Lately we’ve been on a kick of finding all the Mexican restaurants and trying them out. Don Chepe moved locations before we got to try them out but it’s still a local location in Niles. So glad we don’t have to go far for good quality food and service.

Hands down best in Southwest Michigan and Northern Indiana. More authentic than anyone. Fast. I can’t get enough of them! Was so excited about the food, I forgot to take pictures!

Food is really good and there is a great selection. They also have bottle soda which is really nice as well. My favorite is the steak ranchero. The new location is really nice and has a lot of seating.

Love the colorful painting! Sauces are perfect heat level; not flaming hot, not bland and boring, flavorful. The decor inside is not just like every other Mexican restaurant- has its own identity. Very courteous staff. Good food

Best Mexican food joint in the state. They make everything in house and have a more authentic menu than what you would find in other parts of the north. Give them a chance you won’t regret it at all.

My favorite spot! From the Birria tacos, carne arrachera entree, mole sauce to the agua de Jamaica- Don Chepe never disappoints. I really enjoy taking my friends here on Thursday or Friday night. The Birria tacos oooooof, so much deliciousness. 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND. The dipping sauce I like to use on my rice and beans once I finish off my tacos.

Cow tongue tacos are salty , the meat looks mushy like (cow head), the red salsa taste like tamarind and they don’t give you limes . Prices are outrages 3.50 for each tongue taco which for 8 is 26. This place calls itself authentic Mexican food pfft yeah right !

Way cute on the outside and nicely decorated on the inside. There were four to five employees, but no one greeted us upon entry. The food was fine but nothing I’d return for in the future. I tipped 20% at the register, for food that I ordered at the counter, and as we left, I yelled “thank you” to a silent room.

I absolutely love this place!! The atmosphere is warm and inviting and ihe Mexican decor is neat. The food is simply delicious and I honestly have never had a bad meal there. I have only dealt with a few staff but they were friendly and helpful! 5 star for sure!

Their steak tacos are chefs kiss! I’ve had really good Mexican tacos before, but these are AMAZING! I’m so glad I found out about them. The guy handling orders for the food truck was very kind. I did not have to wait more than 5 minutes for my tacos. I can’t wait to join them at their establishment for a full experience.
