Many times a restaurant that isn’t the prettiest on the outside turns out to have the most amazing and memorable food. It’s a typical hole-in-the-wall story, but Taqueria El Chavo did not suffice to this title.

DELICIOSO: had Birria Tacos here and they were fantastic. Just had some in NYC and was disappointed, then found this place, what a nice surprise. Exceptional flavor, tender meat and melt in your mouth. You have to try them.

I love trying Local Restaurants when we travel. Some are amazing, others fair and some… no wonder it stays local.

My wife and I stopped in on a slow Sunday afternoon. Taqueria El Chavo was running a special that included Taco Birria with a special sauce which we both ordered. Each of us received a cup of the sauce. I dipped my taco into the cup of sauce and to my surprise discovered what a truly delicious taco tastes like. It was absolutely fantastic! My wife agreed, that these were the most delicious tacos that we have ever eaten. We can’t wait to go back!

My friend’s order was messed up at a previous restaurant (she has a severe tomato allergy) so we came to this small business and the service was outstanding. They made sure there were no tomatoes or cross-contamination, and even made a side of guacamole special for her without tomatoes. So thankful for them!!

I’ve been craving a taco salad for a few days and I enjoyed one tonight. Taqueria el Chavo, the hole in the wall near Yummy’s donuts was a Mexican place I had not tried. The fried tortilla bowl was perfect. Ground beef, rice beans, lettuce, sour cream, pico, guacamole was fresh and properly portioned. It was attractive and delicious. I can’t wait to try some other selections. Highly recommend! It was also the best price. There is a picture of the LAST SUPPER on the wall too. I’m FULL.

Planned to have lunch in house, but had to order to-go due to the dinning room condition. It was devoid of customers and disheveled, none of the tables had their corresponding amount of chairs, some had none at all! A couple were leaning in a manner that would not sustain a plate of food without it immediately sliding down and crashing on the floor.

We just left. My kids and I were waiting for food and they served us horchata. My son thought the horchata had a piece of cinnamon and when I saw his cup later on I noticed it was a cockroach I wished we had taken a Pic to report it to the health department. I told the server we don’t ever walk out but I couldn’t stay. I showed her the roach in the drink. It was disgusting and I almost puked outside the restaurant. Please For the love of God do not go to this place. I saw a guy come pick up food and I feel sorry as I feel so nauseated.
