This was a unique Mexican dining experience. The custom chairs and tables were quaint and fun. Our food was pretty good, though my fish tacos were oddly lacking some flavor. Service wasn’t as attentive as we would have liked, but the staff was friendly and welcoming. We would definitely visit again.

Tried this place on the hunt for great tacos in Madison. Turns it to be just ok. The chimichanga was really good, but the tacos were average. Nothing to write home about, so I’ll write you…lol! The tacos were cheap though, so that was nice. The atmosphere was pretty cool, kind of in a low key area. Easy to miss if you’re not looking for it. Service was incredibly friendly, albeit a little slow. Don’t wait for the check at the table, pay at the register. The menu is extensive, so try several different things if you want. We also only tried three of the tacos, so the others might be bangin’! The hunt continues!!!

I’ve only had takeout from here. Their tacos are top-notch, very authentic and delicious. Don’t be afraid to try some of the organ meat tacos, the liver taco and the tongue taco I tried were really good. Also, their chicken fajitas are super good. Sadly their steak dishes aren’t as good, it’s usually a bit overcooked and dry. Especially don’t try the Milanese, it was basically inedible, that’s how overcooked it was. But you should be good with anything that’s not beef. I hope to visit in person some day, I’m sure it’s even better than their takeout!

El Jalapeño is a small Mexican restaurant with limited parking. I used to genuinely enjoy the food from this place, it was very flavorful and decent quality. However since my last visit which was at the end of may I haven’t gone back. I went with some friends during lunch time and ordered the chicken flautas. everything seemed fine however shortly after I left I began to feel sick with awful stomach aches and was sweating profusely. I ended up vomiting for 2 days straight and also had some #2 issues for 2 weeks after. I definitely got food poisoning from this place, so please be cautious if you decide to go. I sadly don’t think I’ll go back again based on my last experience

Monday night my Al pastor was actually flavorless. Hubs ordered 3 different tacos and all were completely bland. Salsa was too acidic for me. Hubs asked for salsa verde but they never brought it. Waist staff never asked how our food was, neither did host. A couple years ago the food was great. Not anymore.

The interior design is so much fun! Carved chairs and tables with colorful motives. Tacos are good, especially at $2,50 a piece. Food came out very quickly even during busy weekend lunch time. I say lunch but it was already 3:30pm and the place was still packed. Clearly a favorite of people.

Only had 20 minutes for lunch and I went into el jalapeño some tacos. Service was fast and quick, staff was friendly. Tacos were great. Their Al Pastor and Campechano tacos are fantastic. My one criticism is that their shrimp taco wasn’t on par with the other two. Nevertheless, great place with consistent service and product.

My food was delicious and I highly recommend their chicken nuggets and fries. Obviously I think there tacos are AMAZING but if your family wants to go here and your a picky eater, come here also it is a very clean place, nice music and nice employees. Ot tasted the best!!
