Hands down, without a shadow of a doubt, my favorite Mexican food in NELA. You can’t go wrong with the elotes en vaso and guacamole for appetizers. The “street tacos” (called tacos junior) are flavorful and fresh. They offer several sauces with varying levels of heat, all of which are super tasty. The service was quick and the prices were acceptable too. The star of the show, however, was the charro beans that came with the tacos junior. I’m not sure I’ve ever had beans so flavorful anywhere! Try this place – you won’t regret it!

Wow! Have not had such awesome tasting tacos since my last visit back home to San Antonio!! The corn tortillas were the right size and thickness. The meat had a fantastic taste and beans were like abuela had made them!

Love the atmosphere, my family had dinner outside, the dimmed light was perfect made it very welcoming. Food was delicious especially the tripas and nachos. 10/10 would highly recommend, were very organized and clean. Kayla was the waitress, she was amazing.

Burrito was very skimpy. No sour cream or guacamole. Very little rice,beans and chicken. I told them no peppers and onions they put. Tortilla was hard and stale. I will not repeat my visit.

El jefe is the BEST Mexican food restaurant in all of Monroe/West Monroe. I’ve been here a bunch of times and the food is perfect every time. I’ve tried all the different tacos and they’re all delicious. However, the quesabirria is always my favorite ❤️

Hands down best mexican food in ouachita parish. I mean actual authentic Mexican food. Quesabirra, carnitas, and fajitas are what I’ve tried so far. All three had me licking my fingers.

The best tacos around! We tried the birria tacos, pastor tacos, carnitas taco & the quesabirrias. It was all amazing. No complaints about anything. The staff was friendly and the service was great! I will be going back!
