Heard about this place and decided to try it out. Good call.! Should be 4.5 stars. Food was delicious and filling. Good rice, beans. Had the taco special, steak and chorizo. Wiped plate clean. Give it a try. Staff is great too.

5 stars easy. Being from the West Coast my standards for Mexican cuisine are quite high for this area of the country. I’ve been to many Mexican restaurants here in the Grand Rapids area and most of them I would give 1 star to, which of course I would never do that. Having said that, Taqueria El Mariachi easily has the best Mexican food I’ve eaten in any state outside of the Southwest US and Mexico. Highly recommend everything from here. They make everything from scratch, no ground beef to be found on anything on the menu (pro tip, if you go to Mexican restaurant and they use ground beef in their dishes, leave).

I’m from TC and when my husband went to the game store I checked out Taqueria El Mariachi. It smelled so good and the staff was so nice. The food had so much authentic flavors that I had a hard time stop eating. I ate about a hour before I saw TEM. I just wanted to find a new Mexican food restaurant. The restaurant is very small but has amazing food. I will be coming back next summer with a empty stomach

The food is fine same as you find at just about every Taqueria in the area. Service and speed are really lacking. The restaurant had a dirty feel that a lot of these taquerias seem to. I understand profit margins can be slim but a little bit here and there on restaurant decor can’t break the bank.
