Do not order from this restaurant – Jose and Maria specifically told us they were incapable of fixing this or providing us the right order. this is supposed to be a Super Quesadilla, two wet Classic Burrito, and a Fish Taco and Shrimp Taco . As you can see the tacos arrived completely smashed and falling off the plate. the two wet burritos are not wet because Jose said he couldn’t press the extra charge button even though we have ordered this exact item on door dash before and never had issues, and the quesadilla came melted to a grease falling apart plate.

Our entire family loves this place! Everything is seasoned beautifully, and cooked to perfection. My Mexican father was very impressed when we brought take-out! I especially love the shrimp tacos; the sauce on top is amazing! My picky kids always eat all of their food, and they love the salsas.

Cheap authentic Mexican food. Counter serve place that does burritos, tacos, etc. Also the salsa section is great! Be warned, if you ask for sour cream they give a ridiculously large portion?? I live locally , I’ve been wanting to visit Taqueria Extra since it’s opening however I’ve got to be honest I’m very hesitant to explore new restaurants and adventure outside of my comfort zone when it comes to restaurants, in particular Hispanic restaurants . Reason being is I’ve gotten so comfortable and accustomed to several Taqueria joints around the bay really only two or three that it’s difficult to find a new restaurant that meets my standards . Also I’ve been very disappointed when I did try something new . The beans are watered out, the salsa bar is terrible, the chips aren’t fresh, the meat is poor quality just to name a few issues, this is why I don’t experiment with new restaurants . Nonetheless I finally made it in to Taqueria Extra and I’m glad I did . All the food was very fresh, beans and rice was very delicious and not watered out . The carna asada was extremely tasty and low in fat , good quality meat . The complimentary chips were fresh and plenty , the salsa bar had a decent selection and the salsa itself was fresh and tasty . The amount of food on the plate was plenty , no skimmpy servings to save a few bucks . Overall I was very pleased and honestly surprised because most of the time these new Taqueria in areas like Walnut Creek tend to not be very authentic and it’s obvious in their plates how they try very hard to save a buck beginning with horrible servings . The staff were great also . If you haven’t visited yet I suggest you do , you want be let down great food and service.

Wow! First time here, came in at about 2:30, no wait…ordered a,grilled chicken super burrito to go. Went to the salsa bar and got 3, they have a choice of 6-7 along with the radishes, carrots and green onions. By the time I was done my burrito was ready, she brought it to me instead of just calling my name

Customer service was lacking. I walk in at 9:56am. Sign said open, doors unlocked. There’s a girl packing chips in front of me and doesn’t even look at me for a couple minutes. She then says, “we open in 2 minutes” . So I wait and then order breakfast burritos with just egg and cheese and she says, “we can’t do that” and I explain my boys do not like the beans and potatoes and she repeats, “yeah we don’t have that on the menu”. So I ask if she could just ask the cook to hold off on potatoes and beans but I can still pay menu price, and she just says, “we can’t”. She was difficult on other parts of the order too. I just felt it was unnecessary. I don’t write bad reviews usually but felt she was just irritated I walked in 4 minutes early. They should just keep their doors locked with the sign off until they’re open. Easy peasy.

Great place for antojitos in WC! Three tacos for $5 special in late afternoon, not seen elsewhere near here. Very good salsa ‘bar’. Prices are very decent compared to most of WC sit down places. Like all nearby restos, cursed by terrible downtown parking.

Considered one of the best places for tacos and burritos in downtown Walnut Creek. The super burritos (either with meat or vegetarian) are delicious: choice of beans included. Generous Portion sizes at decent prices. There are a few tables for dine in. Fast and friendly service.

Ordered through Uber eats [cinco de mayo] and our driver switched mine and another customers order. Called the restaurant, willing to drop off the order we were given if our order was still there. The girl who helped me on the phone at the restaurant was very sweet, helpful, and apologetic even though it wasn’t her fault. After her manager told her that we’d have to contact uber eats, she called our driver for us and arranged for our meals to be switched to be correct. She even called me back after to let me know her communication with the driver. Food is yummy, but this one girl made it a for sure thing that we will be returning customers. I wish I had caught her name, but I hope your manager or District Manager see’s this! Thank you!
