“Barbacoa” plate is like the movie Ratatouille, in my mind…. Took me back to my mommas cooking. Very very good! Try with the. Toasted Oil Chile on the side, comes with hand made corn tortillas. Con eso me envenenan! Thank you, La Fogata. Keep up the Good food.

The agua frescas are made from scratch and are really good. Menu is very confusing, it definitely has room for improvement. Mural on the side of the restaurant is really cool and a good spot to take a picture before or after your meal. The ladies were very helpful and nice.

I initially went there because I was looking for cheap eats. Google suggested that it was a reasonable price. It looked so delicious so I immediately ordered, The fish was amazing the service left something to be desired because they did not actually fulfill the request that I had asked for. I said no tortillan no rice, substitute beans. They gave me extra rice and French fries. They were more than happy to fix the order and give me the beans that I asked for. In all it was a pretty good experience although it costed me $18. I left the $10 tip because the lady who helped me was so kind and generous especially in fixing the mistake. And I can say I will return for the fish. But if you’re looking for a reasonably priced Mexican food place this is definitely not it.

Very unprofessional, went to take my mom and I was very dissatisfied with the service, the waitress was telling me something while she was eating, I didn’t understand what she was saying because she had food in her mouth, after she was done eating she tells me I had to go to the register and order food from there which didn’t make any sense cause she was our server so it seems they’re under staff, I was disgusted by her service that I didn’t want to order anything for myself. Never bringing my mom and myself here again.

Not only is the food expensive, but it did not deliver in taste nor quality. It seemed microwaved, or at the very least not made to order. Futhermore, their menu is outdated, and seemingly have nothing advertised. The place is not very clean either, and the service was subpar. Overall, it was not worth the high price. Used to be a great restaurant, but no longer lives to those times.

It’s a popular place. Food was okay. Tables needed cleaning and the floors needed mopping. Felt stuffy inside. That being mentioned. It was lunch time there wasn’t much staff but there wasn’t many customers either. Being that we’re still in a pandemic and food is being sold here, I think it should be kept more clean.

On a scale 1-10..BTW there are no 10 in Oxnard..even for Mexican food..the food is about a 7 to 8..decor a 4..prices usual for say 2 enchiladas rice and beans $15..owners get 8-9..very nice people
