Definitely on our rotation of mexican food in Milwaukee. Los Gallos is on 5 star level and across the board. Some places are great at a couple food items or service but Los Gallos didn’t miss on any of the 4 different food items we ordered and service is fantastic. If you’ve never had tripe or head tacos… try them here. Just outrageously good. When you walk in and there is a spit of pastor you know this is going to be good. Then you sit down and get a dish of onions cucumbers and habenero pepper slices… oh man! Come on! This is real Mexican food.

This place used to be good! Food portions have gotten smaller and prices have gone up. $21+ for 2 burritos one being vegetarian. Terrible customer service. I ordered today and the vegetarian burritos had no beans, tons of rice though. I brought back the burrito to the restaurant and showed to the young man. I asked if he could remake a bean and cheese burrito. he refused and said I had eaten a majority of I so he would not remake anything. He offered me a side of beans. I took it and left. This never happened before when the owner is there… It’s very sad, as this used to be one of my favorites. Oh well this is the South side, there are plenty of other restaurants that would love to have my business.
