A true family tradition manifesting its’ roots from Jesus Maria, Jalisco, Mexico, Taqueria Mexico, Inc. defines the word authenticity like no other. First starting off as a considerably much smaller location, in 1995, the restaurant strongly impacted the South Side of San Antonio, when opening its’ doors near the intersection of Somerset & S.W. Military Drive, with very delicious authentic Mexican food & Tex-Mex restaurant.
Just right over 6 years later, having been very successful with many customers even travel-ling throughout the city to this what some would say small restaurant , the restaurant moved from 7135 Somerset Road to 7167 Somerset, where they sit now, for 25 years.

Ejole!! This place is Phenominal!! My family stopped in on Saturday morning at 10am and this place was packed!!! Plenty of seating and not a long wait. Everything authentic here. Menu was like 5-6 pages of food, glorious food!! Loved the food, it was so flavorful and delicious. Service was exceptional and attentive. Even for how busy it was our food came out at perfect temperature y con savor! Large Texas sized portions and prices were so cheap for the amount of food we got. Definitely coming again! Parking was ample as well.

I went through drive thru for 2 chicken fajita tacos. To my surprise 11 dollars for just 2 tacos. I’ve never been here so for that money I expected some decent tacos. Grossest chicken fajita I’ve ever had. No seasoning nothing. Next door restaurant is by far better. I got corn tortillas and they seem store bought. Never again will I eat here.

This place is a EXPERIENCE the best food and atmosphere I’ve ever encountered. I knew the food was going to be good when they brought me the food and my knife had grill marks on it from where they cooked it! I didn’t even make it past 1 tortilla. Even the mariachi band they had playing had great spirits and played outstanding! The crazy part is I don’t even write reviews that is how good this place is!

First time here. The restaurant is really nice with lots of decor and the restroom is very clean. The service was fast and our waitress friendly and attentive. It’s hard to find some good menudo but it was delicious! Definitely recommend and will absolutely be returning. The small table set up as you walk out was a nice addition. They sell jewelry and croc charms. Also sell a variety of sweet breads
