This place is fantastic! Came recommended from a friend. We ordered the jumbo fresh margaritas and cheese dip when we arrived. The restaurant was clean and Maria wad the one to help us. She was very friendly and answered our questions because this was our first time there. Maria returned with our margaritas and cheese dip and took our order. She made a suggestion for me for the Tortas. It sounded delicious, so i ordered one. She left the table and my wife and i tried our margaritas.. they were delicious!! Our food came and the Torta was amazing! We don’t live close, but will definitely return next time we are in the area. Maria took great care of us, she makes excellent margaritas, the food was great and very fresh and the restaurant was clean. Highly recommend!

Best Mexican food in the Athens area! I’ll gladly drive past many other places to eat with the great folks that operate this restaurant. Delicious, fresh food every time! Have Maria make you a drink and then sit back and enjoy. She is fantastic and will take care of you! It’s not a very big place, but I believe that makes it even better. Certainly, don’t be distracted by the size or location. You’ll love this place!

I typically love most family owned restaurants and this one was no different. Extensive menu with many options. I had the chicken chimichanga and it was delicious! Looking forward to going back and trying carnitas or cessina tacos! They keep their facility really clean. Fantastic Texas margaritas! Also, they were great at accommodating my son’s egg and milk allergy and made him a custom kids plate which I truly appreciated! Overall, fantastic experience!

A few weeks ago I was craving some Mexican food so I gave it try. The food tastes good, but the portions are so small and the price is not that cheap, I ordered some tacos for my girlfriend and she told me the tortilla was old (meat tasted good tho). I ordered a burrito and they barely put any meat or beans on it, it was mostly rice. I understand that they need to save as much money as they can, it’s a business, but come on, serve us decent food portions. Anyway, the waiter was really nice and always friendly, I don’t remember her name.

Food is great but beware because they charge you for chips and salsa. This is something I’ve never experienced at a Mexican restaurant in my life and I am 51 years old. $33 plus tip for takeout of one adult meal($12), one child meal($6.50 for half of a very small cheese quesadilla and literally a dozen fries if that, didn’t even give us the “included” drink), “medium” cheese dip($7) and salsa with a few chips! When I called back to inquire how we ended up at $33 because I could not figure it out in my head, I’m advised that the small container of salsa that I got to go with our food was an extra $3.50? Now every Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to you get unlimited chips and salsa if you eat in and if you get a plate to go you automatically get a small bag of chips with a small container of salsa PER plate. And every restaurant that I have ever ordered cheese dip from, the cheese dip automatically comes with a bag of chips based on the size of cheese dip you’re ordering and a small serving of salsa to go with the cheese dip. This is even if you ordered no food at all and just the cheese dip! Total rip-off and then wanted to argue with me that no Mexican restaurant don’t automatically provide chips and salsa to you! Not sure what Mexican restaurant they’ve eaten that in their life but everyone I’ve ever eaten at does!

Best Mexican in the area. Server was very polite, and all of the food was very clearly homemade based on its unique but delectable flavor. Food came quick, and all questions and concerns about the food were answered thoroughly. We’ll be stopping in again!

Maria and Juan Carlos are awesome! They are so sweet and accommodating! I have been eating at their place for over 6 years now and the food is unbelievable but Maria’s margaritas are OFF THE CHAIN fresh and delicious! Their torta bread and alpastor is made by Juan and they are amazing!
