I have been looking for a place with authentic Mexican food this good for years and it’s super close to my house! I feel like I have found the holy grail of Mexican food in Tex Taco. So far I’ve had their Randy’s breakfast tacos which was delicious! Then I had a beef fajita taco and that was one of the best tacos I’ve ever had in my life. Then I had their pork pastor taco and the spice was incredible! Every bite was soooo good! I’ve always loved barbacoa so I decided to try their barbacoa quesadilla and it was the most amazing quesadilla I’ve ever had and Im almost 40 years old! The cost of the food is also very reasonable for such outstanding flavor. I’m so happy I discovered Tex-Taco and will be going there for amazing authentic Mexican food for years to come. If you live in the Houston/Katy area, you have to try this food! The only reason I gave 4 stars for atmosphere is because it was outdoors and quite hot since it’s summer time. But they have a covered seating area with tables, tvs, fans to keep you cool and surveillance cameras so I can see they have done their best given the circumstances.

Okay okay okay… hear me out. Ive heard about Tex Taco for years and I was not as impressed as I was hoping to be. Price was amazing, food was good, service was a bit slow considering there was no line when I ordered… What did I get? Breakfast tacos with bacon, egg, cheese, potato, and refried beans. 4 for only $8 something. Would I go again? Yes, definitely, but with more realistic expectations. This is the best Taco place in Katy. The Randy Taco is the best!! Bacon, Cheese, Onion, Cilantro and egg, flat topped to perfection!! They have others but Randy is the best!! Get the Green sauce for spice and red for not so spicy. It’s the best in the West!

I was so disappointed to get home to finally eat some taco truck food with good reviews, they don’t use cilantro? They put a string of lettuce instead, I was so confused, unless it’s taco bell, it should have cilantro. The tortillas were dry, we ordered lengua, tripa and fajita, the fajita had some flavor but the lengua and tripa were terrible. Very disappointed but, kudos because of the Horchata water, a bit on the sweet side but at least it wasn’t disgusting. I will not be doing business there anymore and will be going across the street where the blue truck is.

So good! Changed my opinion of what tacos are supposed to taste like. Went Saturday morning for the first time to try breakfast tacos. Today is Thursday and i just had their tacos for lunch for the 3rd time this week. I am hooked. I will be eating here regularly from now on. The Pork Pastor, Barbacoa, Birria, and Camaron are all the best i think i’ve ever had. Taking everyone i know to try. And their red salsa is fantastic.

Their motto is misleading (eat tacos, don’t do drugs) as their bfast tacos got me fiending for more. For real tho, I get the basic potato egg and cheese and it’s just absolutely fabulous. I loved it. Try it with the green salsa and you won’t be disappointed. I actually caved and bought a whole jar of it and havr been eating it with everything.

This place is delicious! Here is a picture of the Randy Taco, our favorite (get some red and green sauce to go with)! We go here any time we’re out on a weekend morning. After picking up our tacos we head to the park (on the other side Katy Fort Bend) to enjoy them! Definitely give them a chance!
