My favorite place in town. It used to be a burger joint so the building looks funny shaped but their food is delicious and fairly priced. Sunday mornings are busiest and they are open only til 2 pm

The Simple Travels
Last time I visited this place 30 years ago, it was one of the older Whataburger’s where they made great burgers back then. Not much has changed on the inside, but the food certainly has. Now it’s a Taqueria Vallarta which serves great Mexican food. Service was excellent and exactly what you’d always want from any restaurant you visit. If you haven’t visited, make a point to do so.

Used to love coming here. But the last 2 times I’ve come I’ve had issues with my tacos. The first time, I took a bite and it was warm and great. The next bite was ice cold. It was weird. Half was warm the other was ice cold. Not room temp, like refrigerated cold. The second time, I didn’t even take a bite because just holding the taco I could tell one side was hot and the other was freezing. That time I had 2 tacos and they were both the same. I think they’re making tacos, freezing them, then microwaving them the next day. It’s actually just lazy that they can’t FEEL the taco isn’t warm through the foil. I even gave them 5 stars about a year ago. But after my last 2 visits I’m just grossed out. I used to go once a week. Idk what happened.

It’s ok for a quick bite. For the area it’s very affordable. My carne Asada was way too well done for me; it seemed like all the crispy pieces from the bottom of pan. The cashier kindly removed the charge per my request.
