My wife and I came into eat because of a recommendation. Did not disappoint, great street style tacos with a wide variety of choices. Taste was great, packing easy, and the place was clean all while not breaking the bank. We will come back for sure, it’s very affordable at $1.89 a taco.

Okay, peeps. I know just about everyone says they have their taco place. Believe me, I’ve eaten at lots of taco joints. But this one in particular, hits the spot. Great atmosphere and music playing loudly. You can sing while eating your tacos. Don’t think for a minute that they will take forever to get your order. Nope. You place your order at window and get your food too. Don’t be shy to get another order. Definitely a MUST GO RESTAURANT!!

I would recommend this place to everyone. The tacos here are so good and cheap. You can pay before or after you eat. You pay by the quantity of tacos and whatever extras. The flan is some of the best I have had in a while. Limited seating and parking especially at night.

The tacos I had were very good. I ate biotechnology, chorizo and brisket. They are priced at 1.89 a taco but I didn’t find that out till I paid. The prices weren’t anywhere and I asked others in line but they didn’t know. I recommend anyone in the area to try these taquitos. They were really good.

The food was good. As you will see from the pictures, they don’t shy away from adding meat to your tacos. We enjoyed each taco we had. The complimentary onions, cilanto, grilled onions, and chili verde we wonderful. The only challenge was the music in the outside area. Way too much bass, so we sat inside. Loved them…..

So I’m a street taco fanatic and have tried them from southern Mexico to Canada. Taquitos West Ave. is pretty much the most famous taqueria in South Texas. It’s been on many youtube reviews, and some TV show. Unfortunately with that fame comes crowds and every time we’ve been over the last several years it’s been too busy for us to stop. There’s time with lines literally down the road. Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights??? forgetaboutit..This place gets crazy busy. So we finally went during the middle of the week at 11AM. Even at this time, there was a decent line to wait in..So we wait, you walk up and tell the cook (usually in spanish) what you want and they pretty much slap it all together instantly while you watch; VERY quick. I got the Bistek, Al Pastor, and Tripas. My wife got the Al Pastor and Bistek. You then take your food and sit down at a stainless table with your drink, eat and pay after..VERY much an honor system. The prices are VERY good. The atmosphere is almost the same you’d find in Mexico, very nice. The staff was quick and very nice. If we’re honest, the area is a little suspect but during the day, you’re probably ok. The big question, the food. The street tacos are definitely top shelf. The Al Pastor is being cooked on a rotating spit right in front of you just like you’d find in Mexico. The flavor of the Bistek (beef) was very good; I’d rate it a solid 8.5/10, the Al Pastor (pork) I’d rate a solid 9/10 and the tripas (stomach and intestines’) had a good flavor. The green salsa they bring to your table was way better than the red. The red was hotter but the green had better flavor. Overall, I’d rate this taqueria for sure in the top 10 in Texas. In San Antonio, I think we prefer Eric’s tacos a bit more but Eric’s ties for the top spot in Texas overall. The other top spot most folks have never heard of is in Hico, Texas called Don Julio’s. As far as Taquitos West Ave…I highly recommend this place if you like top notch authentic Mexican Street Tacos at outstanding prices. I’d definitely go there again.

We used to come to Taquitos every Friday, and we still come as much as possible. The drive and the line is COMPLETELY worth it. Best street tacos in San Antonio! Don’t forget to grab some banana bread and leave a tip for the staff’s amazing work!

Best tacos we had in Texas so far (coming from SoCal tastebuds lol) The staff are quick and very helpful. Would recommend to order more since 1 taco is just 2-3bites. We paid $35 for 16 tacos and 2 drinks. Good deal.

Very authentic taqueria. The line was to the street but it moved FAST – in fifteen minutes we went from last in line to having tacos and table. The staff is fast and

Friend recommended this place for my family. You order at the taco station, you eat, then you pay. At first we were confused because we had never seen such a system before.. based on trust. But they earned my respect. The taco station was super fast. The staff was super helpful and accommodating, they got us the drinks. We tried all the different meats, with everything on top. It was so good we lined up for round 2. My family of 5 ate 29 tacos, one empanadas, and 5 drinks. The total was around $66. Very cheap, fast, and yummy.
