My husband and I agree differently on this one. But still, definitely go to this place.

What a treat. Just minutes from downtown Pittsburgh in the West End Village, a lovely French cafe with an atmosphere set for a relaxing European brunch. The Quiche Lorraine, with Gruyere cheese and smoked bacon, was absolutely scrumptious! The light pastry shell melted in my mouth. We were warmly welcomed by owner, Lou Bucci, and his pet dog. It was like taking a little trip back in time. We enjoyed the endless coffee and a nicely presented assortment of tea. Don’t miss the dessert tartines, lovely “eye candy”, in the front display case. And well worth trying!

Tartine was an awesome experience and a culinary gem in Pittsburgh. The French style breakfast faire is not only unlike anything on offer in Pittsburgh, but also reasonably priced. I had their smoked salmon tartine , which was a slice of fresh baked bread covered with mixture of smoked salmon, cream, dill sauce, and red onions. It was excellent! If you are lucky you may also meet the owner Lou while there. He is a terrific guy that is passionate to create a truly unique and memorable culinary experience for his guests!

I would eat here every day if I could. The servers are attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere is sophisticated and laid back. The food is absolutely out of this world and very reasonably priced. Peach/honey/ricotta tartines, real eggs benedict, vichyssoise…true french food that is simply amazing. The owner is very friendly, as well as his dog 🙂 Very comfortable environment and I would eat there everyday if I could…which I’m on the verge of doing. anyway 🙂 Thank you, Tartine Family, for the best restaurant I could ask for!

Tartine was definitely an experience. It felt just like I was in France! The atmosphere was pleasant and it smelled of fresh bread, however I do have some suggestions to the owners. I understand that this is a French restaurant, but it would be much nicer and cleaner if you had your waitress shave their armpits. It didn’t distract me as much as the loud concertina player in the corner smoking a cigarette, but I couldn’t help but feel like it was slightly unsanitary. Also, you would make much more money if you charged a small fee to ride that neat bike you have out front. I tried to ride it but someone yelled at me. Would go again though.

Fantastic and adorable, this casual, little French Bistro in the West End was a delight for a Saturday Brunch as was a conversation Lou, the owner. The Dijon bechamel sauce was very tasty and the lyonnaise potatoes were a treat. This bistro sold my husband on trying French food again, but in a more formal setting. Can’t wait to go back again for breakfast and lunch during the week.

Another hit by veteran restaurateur Lou Bucci. From LA, to Denver, to Pittsburgh, he has done it again. And this time at Tartine, which has become a local gem. I highly recommend this lovely place for its food and its ambience. Absolutely charming and delicious!

Wonderful doesn’t begin to describe it. Tartine’s menu makes you want to try *everything*, service was top notch, atmosphere was warm. We enjoyed our breakfasts while the Glenn Miller Orchestra and Billie Holiday played in the background. Five bold stars.

I was there for Sunday brunch. Nice atmosphere though I was the very last guest. I ordered a spinach quiche. Easy and good, no complaints. Will come back to try some other dishes.

Great atmosphere for a brunch date. The eggs benedict were great, as was the Belgium waffle.
