I was visiting friends in North Port. Most of us have been stationed in Germany. They told me about this place. Walked in, the place is very inviting. The waitress sat me down, very attentive. Took my order and brought my beer. Listening to the music playing brought me back memories. The food arrived, smelled so good. Took my first bite, I was taken back. The food was great. The entire experience was great.

Spätzle- an easy dish, comes with bacon and cheese: no bacon, substituted with some ham. Cheese not traditional German either. But the worst thing was the Spätzle floated in some grease or oil, 1/3″ high, my stomach turned real acid after eating about one third. Could not eat more. Funny smell of fat, horrible! Never again! $15.90!

The place smelled amazing the moment I walked in. The aroma was mouth watering. I had the bread appetizer and the cream spread, and that spread was so delicious. I even dipped my fries in it! I ate the Schnitzel Club Sandwich, which was fantastic. The fries were crispy and salty and hot! The food was prepared wonderfully and tasted fantastic. The staff is very welcoming and kind. The menu price is modest and well worth it. I highly recommend the Apple Strudel for dessert. If you don’t have room, MAKE ROOM! It was so, so good. Hot apples and ice cream. What a combo. I will definitely be back to visit again.

This place is excellent. The food is home made authentic European food made with fresh and delicious ingredients. The night we were there, it was for my parent’s 65th wedding anniversary. We had pirogies and calamari for appetizers. The pirogies were filled with potato and cheese and covered with sautéed onions and bacon and delicious. The calamari was fried crisp and served with a spicy sauce alongside. The dinner special this night was roast pork served with mashed potatoes, sauerkraut and gravy. The pork was moist, fork tender and had such a nice flavor. One of our party had the Swiss Schnitzel which was breaded pork loin fried and topped with a creamy garlic sauce. Someone had the Schnitzel Messieur, shich was topped with a great peppercorn that was creamy and very flavorful. For dessert we had Black Forest Cake and Apple Streusel (with ice cream on top) and they were both delicious. Our waitress was so nice and accommodating and handled our large party with ease. It was a wonderful evening.

We stopped here for the first time for lunch. Smaller seating area but there was an open table. I tried a smoke beer from Germany. Interesting taste but 1 and done! I had the Bratwurst dinner platter with Sauerkraut and German potatoes. It was excellent. I don’t recall having Sauerkraut with a little brown sugar in it before and I liked it. Ruby had a Warsteiner Dunkle which we have at home and is the only beer she likes. She got the pierogies which were a plateful. We both had a nice salad to start with. Even though they have some tempting desserts, we were too full to participate in any. Janet was the only server and very efficient. I’m sure that we will be back!

Stopped in for lunch, so happy we did. Starter bread with cream sauce was simply delicious. Had the bratwurst and pretzel appetizer, very tasty. We enjoyed the Reuben and the schnitzel club with German potato salad. Both were superb. Cute little place and the service was fast and friendly. We definitely plan on returning.
