I’ve been here several times since moving to NC. The jerk chicken is always tender and delicious. Rice and peas and plantains are decent. The cabbage tastes a little sweet to me (I don’t like sweet vegetables). The service is excellent!!!

If you know…..you know!!! Everything is delicious. It’s the closet in my eyes to the tastes I’ve come to love from Jamaican food on the island. If you’re chasing a fix, stop here!!! They have sof drink varieties, patties, and ting.

This is our favorite Jamaican restaurant in the area. It is family-owned and the sisters that run the restaurant are so friendly. We always get the brown stewed chicken with cabbage, rice , peas and plantains. The chicken is so tender and always falls off the bone. The restaurant is tucked in a shopping complex in Cary near a few barber shops and cell phone shop. We call in the order and pick it up.

IM MAD AS HELL
The service we received was great, the cashier was friendly and very accommodating. I ordered jerk chicken dinner, escovich red snapper, carrot cake, jerk chicken patty, beef patty and coco bread. We were told there would be a wait because of the fish and was fine with the wait. Food was ready in a timely fashion and we were thanked for our business.

Despite living in Raleigh, I frequent west of Umstead at lunchtime. ‘Taste of Jamaica’ was delightful. The food was flavorful and reasonably priced. The red pea soup was exactly what I needed on a miserably rainy day. The two women working were very friendly. There is zero attention given to interior design at this location but that’s not what I was here for in the least.

I was really craving some Jamaican food and discovered this place near me. Went and ordered a lot of food…..I was so disappointed when I got home. I ordered jerk chicken, curried goat, and oxtails….. jerk chicken was bland (never had that before because jerk is highly flavorful), the oxtail and goat was not pleasant at all…..the rice and peas was the best part of the food i got. I’d recommend trying another Jamaican food place.

The first time I went before the pandemic, I wasn’t impressed. Went a few days ago and the food was amazing. I don’t know what happened but I’m glad it did because the food didn’t disappoint. Since there isn’t inside sitting, we had date night in thr parking lot on the can of the truck and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The rice and beans are hard with no taste. I ordered an oxtail plant and the food is completely horrible. The taste is bland, you don’t get a fair amount of oxtails for the amount you pay for. The cabbage is not cooked right…. The food is not good. I believe most people eat there because they don’t know about true island food. If i could I would not give it a star at all. Go to Raleigh or Durham if you want some good island food…. I wish I could get my money back from this place.
