Probably the best gyros(yeero) I have found in Maine, and an unusual place to find them at a Halal place called Tasty Fried Chicken. The Fried chicken is tasty and more affordable than KFC or Popeyes, but I personally found everything else they serve is even better. Ask for the lamb gyro, lamb kabobs, and lamb and rice is delicious, and rare to find any place in Maine that serves authentic saffron rice. Wish we had caught pictures, but their chicken and beef dishes are equally well prepared. My only suggestion is that staff could be a little more friendly, most of the men who served us were very quiet and reserved, and barely said a word to us while ordering. However, on our last visit we were served by a very friendly and kind young woman who made sure our order was perfect, and gave us a bunch of extra hot sauce, which is Amazingly good! Definitely recommend anyone try this interesting restaurant, you won’t be disappointed!

After a exhausting day after work and driving around Portland with limited Mediterranean dine in options. I had to make a tough choice going to this place for it’s namesake “Fried”. I was hesitant to walk in the beginning but was running out of time since it’s a small town and everything closes early and was little tired of eating seafood!

Guy taking orders at the register goes back into the kitchen to make food, didn’t see him wash his hands, didn’t wear gloves and wasn’t wearing a hat. He had long hair.

This place is amazing! I’ve been here twice with a couple months in between. Got the chicken kabob both times and both times: the place is clean, the owner is super nice and friendly, the chicken is cooked tender and moist and everything is hot and fresh.
