We came there because my sister and her friends had had lunch there and thought it was good. We almost didn’t come in because there was only one couple there, and they were at the bar. An employee saw us hesitate and invited us in. It was a slow night despite it being a big football night. Anyway, we sat where we wanted and had the place to ourselves. The nice couple at the bar made conversation,but soon left. We had the shrimp Bahnmi and a salad and the cheesecake and fres. Food was hot and good. About 3 people came in for pick up orders while we were there. I would love to try their pizza and barbecue, so I believe I will be back.

After moving back to the Richmond area more than a year ago I’ve been trying to come up with my new “best of” list. In my opinion, Tavern 19 has one of the best pizzas in the Richmond area. It is more of a neopolitan type pizza, so very doey. They have a great selection of beer and, when weather is right, nice scenic outdoor seating overlooking the picturesque golf course. Plus, reasonably priced.

The food was okay, nothing outstanding. I ordered nachos and buffaloes checked sandwich with onion rings. The nachos lacked toppings and flavor and the chips were very thick. The sandwich was kind of tough but had flavor.

OMG this $25 with delivery caesar salad is the most insane thing I’ve ever experienced in decades of eating this two ingredient dish around the world. It has iceberg lettuce with two (??) barely chopped ends, 10 tomatoes and bacon bits?!? Somehow these dog treat smelling bacon bits were covering every giant piece of iceberg lettuce. I can’t consume pork. I had to toss it even though I never waste food. Never have I seen a dish not contain a single ingredient that is actually in said dish. Rename it bacon bits side/house salad. I feel like this is a joke. Can’t be real. Seriously?

Tavern 19 never fails to please! I had fried green tomatoe sandwich with pimento cheese, excellent! My husband had the fish tacos which were very good also. Service was wonderful as usual!
