We stopped for lunch as we sojourned through Illinois on a quick day trip. We stopping at Tavern on Main for a quick lunch and we’re so impressed with the food, atmosphere and great service. Their prices are so reasonable! Loved that you could order salads in small, medium or large. The Salsa Chicken wrap was amazing and their seasoned fries are very tasty! The Sweet Saint Louis Salad was perfect. If you are around Belleville and looking for a great lunch or dinner place, look no further.

This place came highly recommended. So I decided to check it out. It has a very nice vibe to it. The outside seating would be amazing when the weather is right for dinner with the setting sun as a backdrop. Ordered the Tavern Burger. It was good! The fries were delicious, and the seasoning was on point. My server Bailey was absolutely amazing, very friendly, and attentive. Would recommend as well and come back again.

Tavern On Main is the most bumping place in Downtown Belleville. My mom and I went for a late Friday dinner and drinks and were lucky enough to get Scott as our server (the best server and teacher in the world). We arrived around 7pm and requested a seat on the patio, which resulted in a 30-minute wait (but we could have been seated immediately if we’d gone inside). I was a little disappointed with the lack of live music on a Friday night, but several other spots on Main Street offered that. And if there had been live music, we wouldn’t have been able to hear each other talk- so it worked out great. The vibe on the patio is exactly what I’m looking for when spending a night on the town.

Best place for dining in downtown Belleville. Small kitchen but worth the wait. Lunch? Get the Lobster Roll or Hot Pastrami. Dinner? The Ahi Tuna (or see if the Ribeye is available off menu). One of my personal favorites is the Lobster BLT pizza

It was our first time visiting this restaurant while in town. Everyone had something different from the menu, and everyone enjoyed their meal. It was very busy during our visit, so the service was a little slow, but that wasn’t really an issue because we had great table conversations and time to take in the whole atmosphere of the establishment. If you’re downtown or even close by, drop in and dine, and you’ll enjoy it.

I had a meeting in Belleville and decided to invite my sister to lunch. I’ve been here several times before and always had a good experience. Our server Landon was great, very attentive and quick. This visit I ordered the grouper sandwich and fries. The crispness of the batter was great but, that’s pretty much all there was, fried batter. Grouper is a meaty dish and needs to be served in at least one inch thick pieces. The thickest part of this piece of fish was slightly over a quarter inch and the other end was half that. Very disappointed, the cost was $12 which isn’t outrageous but that was maybe $1.50 piece of fish. And, for a good fish sandwich I’d pay $15. This was a complete waste of money.

Service was great. We got our drinks promptly and were able to order shortly after. I ordered the New York strip with garlic mashed potatoes. The steak was seasoned well but was over cooked. The potatoes were very pasty. I would typically think they were instant but they did have real potato pieces in them. So they were probably Yukon Gold potatoes that were left in the water too long.
