Good food. Bill didn’t match menu price. Not able to get separate checks but I’d go back. Takes a while to get your food but worth the wait.

Food is amazing – some of the best tasting fish I’ve had. Everything was flavorful. Satisfying portions.

I recently dined at Tawakal East African Restaurant and unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the food. Despite the enticing menu, the dishes I ordered fell far short of my expectations. The flavors were bland and lacked the promised depth. The presentation was underwhelming, and it seemed as though little effort went into preparing the dishes.

The server was nice but the bill was higher than the advertised price by a fair amount. The food was average at best and the cleanliness was a bit less than average. The ambience was equivalent to eating in a bus station. I wouldn’t eat here again though I’m a big fan of African food.

I was very disappointed in seeing this restaurant. The minute I walked in the place looked so ghetto. Then there was absolutely no service. The lady who was in the restaurant was on the phone. She could care less if we needed to order food or not. She only had certain food on certain days which is really bad. If you want injera it was only available on the weekends. The menu is also very pricey. Not worth it! Won’t be coming back.

Nobody was in the restaurant when we arrived and it took a couple minutes for someone to come out of the back and greet us. The dining room looked as if it was a cafeteria. A bit dirty, crooked tv on the wall, 1 small wall hanging and a couple woven vases as the only decorations. Also 2 out of place drink refrigerators…that you served yourself from…even water.

This place is a hidden gem! The injera platter (I don’t remember the proper name) is only served on weekends, but it is so delicious. The chai was good, too. I will definitely be going back! The service was friendly and attentive 🙂

There is no likelihood I would ever return to this place.

Well, it’s nice to see Greeley with a decent ethnic restaurant – hope it can last with the non-adventurous demographic we seem to be saddled with. The place is new and decor seems to be secondary to food at the moment. And the food is good, make no mistake. With the closing of Nyala in Fort Collins, this seems to be the only Ethiopian joint in northern Colorado. I found it a bit odd when you order water, they bring you bottled water and charge a buck for it – I’d suggest they get some glassware and offer free water. The food is not inexpensive, so…
