We have been eating at and ordering take out from Teddy’s Diner for many many years. We loved that it is local and that they had good food. Yes the portion sizes and cutbacks are noticeable as with any other restaurant but that is not why I am writing this review. The past 3 experiences haven’t been pleasant. I ordered a Reuben sandwich for lunch and got home to find a hair nestled in-between the meat. I stopped eating and threw the sandwich out thinking it was just an isolated incident, so I ordered again a few weeks later. I find another hair mixed in my scrambled eggs. This time we drive back to the restaurant and explain the situation and what I assume to be the manager apologized and remade my meal himself. We order again a few weeks later and lone behold another hair… I’m done, the person who is preparing the food is losing hair in my food every time I order, I can’t be the only one. The cooks or preparers need hairnets. My family won’t be ordering from Teddy’s Diner again. 3 strikes (in a row) your out. What other unhygienic things are going on behind the scenes…

Stopped in for breakfast today. I had a wonderful omelette with toast and hash browns. Additionally had a never empty cup of coffee and an orange juice. The waitress was amazing and kept my coffee cup full. She was attentive without making it feel like I was watched over, truly great service and very friendly. The food was delivered quickly and was delicious. Sorry I forget to take pictures but, be sure you stop for a visit when you in Chicago.

Had breakfast with a colleague; service was good, no issues, but seemed too casual; not sure the wait staff wanted to be there. Tables were only partially bussed with used coffee cups and water glasses remaining on three or four table. It was like that the entire time we were there and is a turn off for me. At least dirty plates had been removed. Menu selection was standard diner options and it did taste good. Not sure I will return as incomplete bussed tables is very unattractive and gross.

Ive ordered from here before and it’s usually good, but last time I ordered the “biscuits and gravy” they sent it to me with literal wheat bread slices, no biscuits. How hard was it to call and tell me you didn’t have biscuits? You made me waste my money. Very rude and I won’t give money to this business again.

It is very unfortunate how this place has gone downhill. Server was busy with friends or family that came to visit. Food came out warm bacon was hard and chewy. This use to be our go to breakfast place but we won’t be back.
