Our recent dinner at Ten was about as perfect as could be. Jack (ask for him) gave us a brief overview of Ten’s history as well as explained the menu with a sense of pride that you don’t often see.

I have had sushi all over the world and it’s crazy to say that CHARLOTTESVILLE VIRGINIA has some of the best food let alone sushi that I have ever eaten.

Amazing sushi. What separates this place from other sushi in Charlottesville is that you can taste the freshness of the fish. In addition a great ambiance. A little pricier than other sushi places but it is worth it for the experience.

I went to Ten for my birthday for the first time since Covid. The food and service were phenomenal. This is hands down the best sushi in Charlottesville.

I have never had a dinner that was such a lovely dining experience. The waitstaff was attentive and informative, the atmosphere was intimate yet modern, and this is the best sushi I have ever had. Bar none. Prices are also reasonable and competitive. I will be back. Thank you for a lovely dinner!

Food itself was tasty! Wagyu beef was especially good. Entrees and drinks came out quickly but for two slices of cake we had to wait 40 minutes which was a little crazy for a weekday night. Good ambience but prices are a little high. Fine for an occasional nice night out but temper expectations.

Went to dinner last night with a party of 6. The food was truly delicious and the restaurant was beautiful inside. The server even offered a free dessert to our two graduates. So in that regard the place was wonderful. Unfortunately, the service was extremely slow (even though they seem to have a lot of servers and waiters) and I was disappointed in some of the things that the restaurant did. They were out of several of the cocktails on the cocktail menu. I watched servers look at our table to see if we needed water when our glasses were more than halfway empty and they would turn around and go to a different table. The restaurant was extremely dark so maybe they couldn’t see? Our server told us that one of the menu items would have six pieces to it which is one of the reasons why we ordered it. When it came it only had five pieces. When we ask the server so that he would bring one extra piece he said he would have to go to the back and find out what to do for us. He came back and apologized and said he had the wrong information it was actually only five pieces but the restaurant didn’t do anything for us. Finally it just took an extremely long time to get our food and even get our main dinner order in. For a place with such great reviews, for such delicious food and for such high prices I was hoping for a little bit more unfortunately. I would say the food is worth trying it again and hopefully it was just an off night.

We came for date night expecting to be blown away, far from it. The service was not impressive, our waiter had B.O., there were two items on the menu, we wanted, but they did not have. The sushi roll was falling apart, and the sashimi was not the quality I was expecting. Overall, even with all of the recommendations from others, I will not be returning. You expect a certain quality and service at this price, but not worth the trip for us.

Got a hefty sushi order to go to enjoy it downtown and asked if they gave soy sauce with order. Guy w/ piercings said yes but they did not. By the time we realized it was too hot and too late to go back without compromising the freshness of the food so had to eat it without. Definitely marred the experience. Had the man checked to confirm there was soy service would have been a 5. Had the sushi been eaten with soysauce the food would have been a 5 also. Unfortunately neither criteria was met so left 3 total.

One of the best foodie experiences downtown! Cocktails were unique, fresh, and really sets the vibe. The food presentation for the wagyu was so unique I will tell all my friends about the 500 degree rock it was cooked on! The cuttlefish tempura is a must…filling, different, and excellent flavor! A must try if you’re in downtown Charlottesville!
