I was very impressed with the quality of the food and you get a discounted trail pass! I took a group with 8 of us and we had an amazing time. I hate the chicken sandwich and also the quinoa bowl. Also, had to get some coffee of course, I think they called it a poor man’s mocha? You will want to schedule your trip far in advance and also make sure cancels happen as soon as possible or you will get charged because they only have so much space and prep food accordingly.

Best dining experience to date! Imagine an off grid yurt experience where you have to snow shoe or ski to get to an elevated, five course meal. We arrived right as the sun was setting, taking in the gorgeous, panoramic mountain views off the porch. We were warmly greeted by the staff. We ordered the bison and pheasant. The bison was the best steak I’ve ever had! The chef even came out to make sure we were enjoying our meal. The rosemary bean soup was to die for! The rosemary flavor was perfection. The venison shooters were also amazing. The whole meal last from 6-8:30ish. It also included dessert. We were so impressed with the entire experience that I will definitely be recommending this place to family and friends.

What a fun experience – a restaurant in a yurt in the woods one mile from the nearest public road, with an incredible view of the state’s two tallest mountains! Accessible by foot, shoe, ski, and bike, the food and drinks are good and the wait staff are friendly! Reservations for dining are required and lunch is only served on winter weekends. However, drink menus are available to those passing by outside. Enjoy!

We got married at the Tennessee Pass Cookhouse this July and we could not recommend it more! The setting is absolutely stunning with gorgeous views, the staff is wonderful and the food is phenomenal. We stayed in their yurts for 5 nights and had a wonderful wedding week with our families and friends. Tennessee Pass was great to work with and incredibly accommodating and allowed us to make our wedding everything we could have asked for. We are so grateful and cannot wait to go back to visit. If you want a unique mountain wedding this is the place for you! (All photography is by Brogan Resch Photography)

Incredible place. My wife and I have visited numerous times, summer and winter. We love the food and unique atmosphere. A snowshoe or hike to dinner is always a special experience. Highly recommended.

What a beautiful place to have been for a wedding. I’m glad to have been invited and I’m glad my friends have such good taste as to have had their wedding here.

In agreement with a few other reviews…service and experience are a 5, but the food was just OK. We had been here a year prior and the food was delicious. Last year there was a big bonfire, not this year, which was disappointing. Also, last year there was live music (guitar player), but not this year. Regarding the food, the salad & dessert = great!, but the elk was just OK. Bison was terrific. Wish there was more sauce with the meats. Sides (potatoes, rice/quinoa, & green beans) were bland & unappetizing. Wish there was the ability to make slight changes to the entree selections. Love the ambiance (candles), the yurt, the wait staff and the mountains! Definitely a cool experience!

Probably the coolest lunch I have ever been on. Only accessible by one mile hike or cross country skiing in. Limited menu but everything is very tasty and they have a good selection of wine and hot adult beverages. The view from the porch makes the whole hike worth it.
