This used to be one of our favorite spots to go. The food used to be cooked fresh and the steak was always tender and smokey. But not any more. Looks like they just cook everything on a dirty flat top that they just keep spraying Pam on. The steak was terrible, it took forever to chew to finally get it down. The noodles were good, the sauce is great. The crab rangoons and the Scarlett roll were great as well. But I always loved the steak and the fact that everything was clean and fresh but that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.

I started going here a few months ago for the health benefits for food on the go and I absolutely love this place. It is right on pace price wise with everything else that is fast and healthy. My go to for my macro friendly meal is the Chicken and White Rice with no salad. I also add the spicy mayo sauce to my rice and it makes it amazing! I speak highly of this place to people in the fitness community looking for a quick healthy meal on the go.

We tossed this place around with a couple others but after reading the reviews here and seeing pics of the food it was the best option. Unfortunately this is not somewhere I would return to. It started with the service and the extremely poor attitude when we were greeted at the register. According to the receipt this individual was named Sai and boy was he not welcoming at all for a first time customer. He gave me a hard time with my order and seemed annoyed that I wasn’t sure how to order everything that I wanted. Once we got through that and received our food I was not pleased at all with the quality of the Chicken Teriyaki which seemed like it might have been precooked and then heated on the flattop. I went back to ask for more Teriyaki and it was like we were trying to meet with Congress to even get a small cup of sauce. It was also annoying that he just slouched in the chair at the front and played on his phone. I wished it would have been awesome but it was quite disappointing. Even trying to throw my trash away took quite a bit of compacting effort.

Food cooked to order. I decided to try based on pretty good reviews. Ordered salmon and scallops, fried rice with ginger dressing bowl. Scallops and salmon were surprisingly very good especially with the sauce.

The 2 employees that served me where very helpful. I thought they served raw sushi and I was ready to walk out until the explained a roll to me. The scarlet roll. They did great!! And my side of rice was cooked perfectly.

We love to support Local owed businesses, this place makes it easy because the food is so good, it’s fresh and made to order at the same time fast!!! I am very particular and have a picky order lol there are so sweet and always accommodate my wants!

Unique tariyaki house, with thin sliced steak on a bed of rice (friend, or steamed) comes with salad (try yum yum sauce) and a drink for about $10. Family friendly, great food, and something different to try in Ankeny. Try it!

The salad was really good but the salmon was so overcooked you couldn’t even taste it plus when the girl was making my salad her hair was leaning into the salad I pointed it out so she put the salad to the side but the manager poor them back in right after they made mine her hair was definitely in it
