Went for our anniversary dinner a few weeks ago and everything was amazing — favorites were the ricotta gnudi & pork ragu casarecce. My only wish is that they had the olive oil cake when we were there because we were dying to try it, hopefully it’s back on the menu when we go next time!

Tesoro is the best restaurant in Carrboro/Chapel-Hill right now. The food is authentic and delicious and their wine list is always excellent. Their concept is honest and not over complicated, exactly as a top local pasta restaurant should be. Not only that, but their team is top notch and committed to the community. My husband and I were lucky enough to share Tesoro with our family during our wedding rehearsal dinner and they continue to rave about the dishes. To the Tesoro Team – thank you for so many memories already, and many more to come over the years!

Classy, but laid back. I’m lactose intolerant so the menu was pretty limited for me, but oh my god it was still such incredibly good food. The tomato sauce over my noodles was the best I think I’ve ever had. There were no leftovers. My partner got the brisket over gnocchi, and I had a taste…transcendent. We shared a slice of olive oil cake for dessert and it was perfect – rich, but not too sweet. The wine was a cherry on top of it all. I hope Tesoro stays around for a long time, because Carrboro loves them.

Tesoro’s food is incredible. As is true of excellent food, the key is quality ingredients prepared well. The pasta is tender and delicate, housemade made in traditional styles like linguine, mafalde, and rigatoni. They also make dumplings like gnocchi and gnudi if you are in the mood for something more pillowy. The sauces are delicious, allowing each ingredient to shine. Our favorite is the linguine with garlic, lemon, anchovy, and breadcrumbs—it is bright, buttery, and salty, with added texture and richness from the breadcrumbs. Their focaccia with whipped butter and olive oil is decadent, and their olive oil cake is moist, rich, gently sweet, and incredibly satisfying. The dining room is minimal, clean, and open with perfect dinner lighting that lets diners slip into their own little bubbles while enjoying each amazing course. Tesoro’s food feels at once homey and elevated, and it keeps us coming back for more.

I had been meaning to try Tesoro for months and so glad we finally did! Everything was so fresh and delicious. Loved sitting at the counter and watching the action. Don’t skip the olive oil cake! My only qualm is that the wine pours felt small.

I was never a pasta guy growing up but somewhere along the way the switch flipped and now I can’t get enough of it. The fresh made pasta at Tesoro is simply the best around. Seriously delicious. You’ll probably need a reservation to eat here but having a little pasta date to look forward to in a few days is a pretty good way to get you through the week

Tesoro is at the top of the list when it comes to Italian food! A serious slice of heaven in Carrboro. Great location for this cozy new hot spot! The food is all brought in local and pastas are hand made by the chef himself. The pasta dishes are absolutely fantastic. Al dente has never tasted so good. His staff works their butts off, great personalities all around, from the time you walk in the door to when you’re leaving. A M A Z I N G !!!

Can’t. It was so good. By far better than the pasta I had in Florence and Venice.

Tesoro was a wonderful experience. About 1 month ago, I emailed the restaurant to set up a surprise birthday dinner for my boyfriend. The owner, David, was quick to respond and provided me with great suggestions/options for the perfect dinner menu. I have been looking forward to this dinner for several weeks, and let’s just say it was absolutely PERFECT.
