Nice restaurant. Food was all really good. Could actually improve on the “German potato salad”

The Jager Schnitzel was excellent. The red cabbage and German potato salad were also very good. Service was fast and very friendly

Must get the pretzel! So far everything I have had on the menu is good. The German food is fantastic, and the chicken, bacon, swiss plate is crazy good. A friend got a steak and it was delicious as well. Wonderful little stop if you’re looking for something to try. The full bar is a great addition.

A little noisy but what should you expect on a live music night? THE BEST chicken fried steak (I admit I ate steak fingers instead) I have had in a very long time. Super tender and tasty. Creamed corn NOT from a can, legit mashed potatoes, perfect crunchy toast…. I cannot praise the food here enough — and the service matched!

We had the pretzel for a starter and the crust was crispy with a chewy center. Beer cheese was good, but the mustard was just Gulden’s. The schnitzel was well cooked and breaded. The dill gravy came cold. The TwoDocs beer on tap was excellent. The German sausage had a too fine texture, with little flavor. The jalapeno and cheese sausage was very similar to commercial sausage. The sauerkraut was dry and not very pungent. The mac and cheese was indistinguishable from the cafeteria version. All-in-all this was an average meal with average service at a premium price. I think on any given day this place might be hit or miss. Music was just starting in the biergarten, so maybe I’d try it another day.

The hamburger was a 5* but the chicken fried steak was too chewy … the onion rings tasted like old oil and were too dark in color … thank you for taking the rings off our ticket… the music was great plus they had a duo out in the patio for some awesome live music. It would have been a 5 * all the way but that cfs was way too chewy…

We discovered this place last year and it has been a favorite ever since. We drive in from Lubbock just for breakfast or lunch and walking around the square. Very friendly staff and delicious food. On our most recent trip, we had breakfast. We both had the West Texas omelette and it’s incredible! Their Texas Pecan coffee is also mouthwatering! We will keep coming back here again and again and again!

I was highly disappointed after finally making the trip to check this place out. It was perfect patio weather with a band playing, we rode out there only to be ignored. The service was horrible. We initially tried ordering at the bar and were told there was full service seating outside. After seating ourselves, no one came. Another couple arrived at the table beside us, with wait staff following them out with silverware and immediately taking their drink and appetizer order. Another waiter was outside at this time, checked on 2 other tables around us, as well as the sound guy for the band, again we were never acknowledged. At this point I set a timer, my husband and I waited another 10 minutes before walking out. Don’t waste your time or gas making the drive.

What a nice surprise in Slaton, Texas. Friendly staff, casual atmosphere and delicious food. We ordered chicken fried steak and grilled pork chops, served piping hot and scrumptious. Nice beer garden with live music on Saturdays. Will definitely make a trip back there
