Had to have some bbq/smoked meat before getting back on the road, sadly I was disappointed when stopping here for the first time. First there was no smell of smoke anywhere, which is when I should have turned around, but anyway I got the $15 brisket baked potato, the brisket has zero hint, taste,or aroma of having been smoked at all, though the flavor and tenderness was alright, the fixings were skimpy, but even worst is,it’s a tragedy to put a pound of brisket on a potato then add IMITATION BACON PEOPLE. REALLY?? I’m still scratching my head on that one. That’s a Southern No,No.

The beef taste like it came from a meat house in Mexico where they hang the meat for days in the sun. The Turkey was undercooked. The potato salad was great but the green beans taste like great value Walmart cut beans.

Very good brisket, I’ve also had pulled pork which was good. It’s just expensive. Then after spending almost $30 for brisket, LG ice cup, and a bottle of diet cola I still had to pay for parking

Extremely poor experience. Went in at lunch time and all they sell is brisket. No pork, chicken or any other types of meat. No fries. Extremely overpriced for food stuck under a heat lamp.

Surprisingly good meal at this large gas station. Meat and two sides made for a big meal. Chopped brisket was very good. Ribs were fall off the bone.

This place has good food, maybe 1 time in 5 visits. I’ll not take a chance on them again. You either need to change the name, or get better recipes/ workers. THIS ISN’T THE BEST SMOKEHOUSE. Hell, it wouldn’t hit top 100 in California, much less Texas.

Brisket tastes reheated or boiled, does not have a good smoke ring to it. Almost like they are serving old leftovers.

This place used to be top notch. But has steadily went down hill for the last year. It’s a barbecue house not a taco stand so start with hiring people that speak at least 60% English. Then let’s talk about the food quality or lack of. Because this to has started to fail in quality. Then there’s the lack of idk if their trying to sale whole chicken or just not preparing enough but the last exactly 15 times I’ve went and ask for whole chicken they always say in spanglish/broken English oh sorry we only have 1 leg sorry. 15 times in a row come on…. any way so I went with ribs or should I say charcoal. Because of the taste and the tenderness. Next up the pinto beans really hard to screw that up but yet you managed. This like I said used to be a top notch place and my favorite. But for past year deep dive down spiral in quality all the way around. Looks I’ll be finding another barbecue house.
