Off to a great start. Just opened this past week. Our favorites were the Buffalo boneless wings (mild) appetizer, the side caesar salad, the chili side dish and the beef tips! The best though was the Chicken Critters. Nicely breaded and fried chicken tenders and a huge serving size big enough for two! Super tender and juicy, nice crispy coating. The burgers were pretty pedestrian and not well seasoned. The baked potato was okay but the potato skin was coated in sea salt, not to our liking. We went on Fathers Day which was very, very busy. We used the waitlist and it worked well. Once checked in we got our table within 10 minutes. Service was great too. Lots of servers and our waitress Jasmine D was fabulous and took care of all our requests. I didn’t take off any stars for this, but they did run out of peanuts (their trademark snack) and ribs on Father’s Day! I chalk this up to growing pains on the management team.

New location for Texas Roadhouse in the Walmart parking lot on the west side of Madison. Layout is exactly the same as the Eastside. The only place in town that has Prime Rib at lunch time. I went there opening week, so ratio of servers to customers was 3:1. We’ll see what it’s like after they’ve been open a few weeks. Potato Skin appetizer had tons of cheese and bacon, but was still somewhat bland. Needs seasoning and/or green onions. Green beans were the opposite, tons of flavor and seasoning. Rolls were hot and fresh. Steak was properly cooked to order.

Came out to celebrate my birthday belatedly with my husband and two young kids. Even though it was busy, the wait time was less than 10 minutes from walking in. I do recommend going on their website and getting on their waitlist prior to arriving for even quicker seating. Our server Michael was friendly and attentive. The mango margarita was delicious. I highly recommend getting the kicker. Michael was exceptional handling all our extra requests from getting the kids meals/drinks in first, to go boxes ahead of time, dessert and extra silverware. I ordered the Texas Size combo of 12oz ribeye medium with shrimp. It came with two sides, cup of chili and loaded sweet potato (which is really just toasted marshmallow). The loaded sweet potato was a bit sweet for my preference. I was thinking it would be a honey butter topping like the other steak house lol. The steak was cooked perfectly. The toddler loved the bread and shrimp. My husband got the bbq burger but they might have forgotten to put bbq on the burger. Otherwise it was a good burger. The kids loved their Mac and Cheese and Jr. Chicken Tenders. I misunderstood that the buttered corn was a cup of corn and not corn on the cob so the kiddos didn’t eat much of it. The corn was tasty though. Cactus bloom was yummy and not greasy or overfried. Granny’s Apple Pie Classic was good. It was brought out early with the entree because I miscommunicated ordering it with our appetizer but no biggie. My 5yo got to enjoy her dessert so the timing worked out.

It was amazing as always! Highlights were the ribeye (medium rare, seasoned, and cooked to absolute perfection) and the sweet potato (peeled away from the skin beautifully, nothing but cinnamon butter – perfection). Tyler R. was our server and he was absolutely lovely! He made recommendations when I was frozen with indecision, he wasn’t pushy, and checked up on us enough to where we didn’t feel smothered or forgotten. I’m halfway writing this review to make sure y’all know this place is worth visiting and halfway because I need to remember who to ask for when we come back!

Service was fairly quick. However there ended up being a few issues with all four of our orders. The main being that the server got my order wrong. I had ordered this chicken jack sandwich thing, and was given some chicken breasts in some sort of gravy… But she promptly fixed that. Just as she quickly fixed the other couple issues (Which could have been the kitchens fault) of missed sauces on 2 meals. On the other Hand.. My mother’s steak was much more well done than she had ordered it. But overall, once the issues where addressed, we enjoyed our meals. And our server was nothing but nice and patient with our initial complaints.

We have visited several Texas Roadhouses and feel the quality has been declining. Last time we went steaks were just OK and all our food was super salty almost to the point of not being able to eat it. We used to really like Texas Roadhouse but it seems that lately they’ve been having issues with consistency. Sometimes steaks and burgers are cooked how we ordered, other times they are way overdone and dry. Hopefully this is temporary as this location recently opened but we won’t be coming back for a while.

Tamika and Grace were Amazing. We just had a sad loss., An these two amazing Employees, Hostess and waitress. Made our day we profoundly thank them. Every staff member was awsome but these two made for the best dining experience I have had since coming to Madison. Me from Texas my better half from New York. Thank these lady’s it was fun and amazing.
