A few years ago new owners took over this place and it went downhill big time. However, the last few times that I have been here, I have been pleasantly surprised! The soups have gotten much better than they ever were, they are loaded with veggies and packed with flavor now. The meals are much better now, seem to be plated professionally and with a new flare, and the sushi is no longer made with the mush they had been using, they are presented fresh, colorful, and taste fantastic. Thai Basil is back and better than ever!

Sorry to be a downer, but I had a really mixed experience here. The sushi was great. Not the best I’ve ever had, but still really good. I also ordered a dish called General Thai’s chicken, which was NOT good. It tasted like over cooked cafeteria food. Like it was just out of the freezer. I also ordered some beef Pho. I am really particular about my Pho. It was mediocre, bland, and really not good. I should have expected as much with such a diverse menu. I would come back for the sushi, but it and everything else was expensive, so probably not often and only if I was desperate. The decor was older and a little run down looking. They’re a bunch of awards on the wall as you walk in from years past but, it seems that this place had it’s hay day years ago but has gone down hill.

Always delicious, and great value. Lunch specials are killer. Service is okay, but keeps this from a five-star rating for me. Still, if you’re in this neck of the woods, hitting up Thai Basil for food & Logee’s Greenhouses, next door, for browsing, is a great way to spend some time.

I live in Alabama and ate here 3 years ago. Have wanted to go back ever since. Went twice this time. Food was fabulous. Ordered sushi first visit. Very fresh and delicious. Had one of the curries on second visit. Was excellent and seafood fresh and tasty. Just the right heat level. Staff was friendly. Service was excellent.

I came here for lunch with my sister for some sushi and was not disappointed! The sushi lunch special is a great deal, and was delicious! We also had some crab rangoons and chicken satay, both were very tasty as well! I had come here years ago, while under previous management, and had not been back because of reviews I had seen. My experience today was great, the waitress was very attentive and personable, and we plan on coming back! We were also happy that the building is very handicap accessible, which made it easy for my sister with her broken ankle and knee scooter.

Wait staff was attentive. Sushi was fresh but I have never seen such a slow sushi chef. He was all alone granted with slot of sushi being ordered. Could be indicative of under staffing to save money. They really have good food just kind of ruined big birthday reservation dinner

I had chicken hibachi and it was delicious. The chef was very fun and made delicious food. The server was very nice and since we had such a good experience we ordered another entree togo. Overall I’m super impressed with this place and will be going back again!

Have pretty good food but some things are too much. My wife likes a plain old wanton soup but theirs is full of seafood. I love it but she doesn’t. Then they make my Mai Tai with Sunny D instead of orange juice. So any drink that uses OJ is not right. They do have a very good special on rolls in the afternoon.
